I haven’t played in god knows how long. I used to love the game and grind for raids mostly but man I’ve even skipped the last two raids. Just watched them on twitch instead. I don’t think I could have functioned in my adult life anymore and continued playing Destiny. Doing tasks I “need to do” felt a lot like a second job. Now I only play games that I can have some pure fun in with no real tasks and hop on and off. Like Apex.
I decided towards the beginning of last year I would no longer play or buy expansions until they got to the point with the story. I’m talking Savathun shows up or the rest of the Darkness Pyramid ships. Otherwise I’m done with these little side stories taking up my time. How do you guys still handle it? Do you still love it as much as Destiny 1?

Edited by Harryvok: 2/6/2020 3:38:10 AMI bust out my season pass as quick as I can in the hours I have and then my playtime drops significantly. There’s nothing special or exciting about D2 anymore. For me it has run its course. I got my money worth and had fun, but I think D2 has had its time for me. Nothing major or exciting really gets resolved. Shadowkeep was really disappointing. The seasons are just ‘ok’.

Regardless of my work and family schedule, i always find time. That said, time is not the reason Im not currently playing.

I go to work at 9am and regularly work until 6 or 7pm and I play most evenings still.
-
Yep I just play Crucible when I have some free time

8 RepliesReading these comments I'm concerned about the mental health of many here. Tons of complaints, most of which I agree with. But then you guys can't stop playing for whatever reason. I hope you guys get the help you need. Good luck

Stopped a while ago, couldn’t tell you when for sure. I’ve logged on and gone to the tower 2 or 3 times since then, but just have zero interest in doing anything in the game now.

Apex is garbage

I still do, but much less.

I got no time for living yeah.....I'm working all the time🎶

Ending boy recently played just to finish out the season thing. I want the old version back cause at least you could earn the eververse stuff by actually playing the game and buying eververse items with bright dust. The season pass thing is stupid and needs to go.

31 RepliesI know a 28 Year old man who has a wife, a two year old child and works 7-3 and grinds like a mofo. He’s like level 150 in the pass, he has all the quest weapons, he’s almost 990 light. So if you can’t find time to play then you aren’t trying

I work 3pm - 11:30pm. Yeah I’ll play an hour or two before bed. Only a couple times per week though. I enjoyed the last year of the original Destiny way more. Often when I play now, it feels like adding time to my work shift.
-
I work three twelve-hour shifts a week, but yeah I still play.
-
I’ve been putting my time into apex recently, I’ve burnt myself out of actually doing anything in destiny anymore

I don't work full time any more, but even so I don't like it as much as D1. In D1 I enjoyed waking up early to play before work and I'd forego all tv to play in the evening. There's no real draw to D2. There almost was, in Forsaken... then they did season of drifter and those ridiculously stupid forge quests and I started to like it less and less. D2 has been a mistake from start to finish. Some high points, but mostly just busy work.

I do if I'm not traveling. My rank is only 7 this season, but i have to admit i am addicted to COD "infected".

Does grinding the same bounties night after night count as playing?
-
1 ReplyI don’t too much waistless grind, been playing eso instead. I do check the forums once a week to see what’s going on.

The game is a chore now, I rarely find time to play now. I only play if something is seriously worth grinding for, I actually like the season pass. Grinding for armor ornaments to me is more valuable than grinding for a god rolled weapon. There will always be a new god roll to chase and the weapon may or may not get nerfed but armors? The ornaments are permanent and we get to look great no matter what expansion we are on.

I've had a full time job since Halo CE came out. I have a similar playing schedule back then as i do now. Usually as people get older and start familys, play time goes down quite a bit. Maybe you have moved past Destiny, preferring games that you dont need to invest lots of time in.
-
I don't play anywhere near as much as I did in D1, and I also mostly just play solo PvP now, but I do still play.

Honestly a big part of what kills it for me is just how shitty the game runs, i go play other games and come back and I just cant believe it, its like the difference between playing a sega genesis game and a PS4 game. Im so slow, the load times are unbelievable, the AI has a mind of its own and does random shit it shouldnt do, quests may or may not progress, shots may or may not register in PVE and PVP, I mean its a real lackluster experience from the technical standpoint.

I have a buddy that is 40, he works a night job and picks up shifts during the day. On his off days, he'll take shifts too. He usually puts in 120 hours in a week. He grinds this game more than I do and I'm self employed lol he also has 4 kids and a wife. It's pretty crazy. I don't know how anybody like him can play this game and get anything done. He misses out on a lot of stuff of course. But the main reason he plays this game. He still can get that stuff done.
