After seeing the release of yet another exotic Hand Cannon into Destiny 2 with Lumina, I'm really starting to get a little annoyed with the large number of exotic HCs in the game, especially since the number of exotic in the other weapon types is lacking.
As of the release of Lumina, here are the numbers and names of each exotic weapon by weapon type:
Auto Rifle: 4 weapons- Cerberus +1, Hard Light, Suros Regime, Sweet Business
Bow: 3 weapons- Le Monarque, Trinity Ghoul, Wishender
Fusion Rifle: 4 weapons- Jotunn, Merciless, One Thousand Voices, Telesto
Grenade Launcher: 4 weapons- Anarchy, Colony, Fighting Lion, Prospector
Linear Fusion Rifle: 3 weapons- Arbalest, Queenbreaker, Sleeper Simulant
Machine Gun: 1 weapon- Thunderlord
Pulse Rifle: 3 weapons- Graviton Lance, Outbreak Perfected, Vigilance Wing
Rocket Launcher: 3 weapons- Truth, Two-Tailed Fox, Wardcliff Coil
Scout Rifle: 4 weapons- Jade Rabbit, MIDA Multi-Tool, Polaris Lance, Skyburner's Oath
Shotgun: 4 weapons- Chaperone, Legend of Acrius, Lord of Wolves, Tractor Cannon
Sidearm: 1 weapon- Rat King
Sniper Rifle: 4 weapons- Borealis, D.A.R.C.I., Izanagi's Burden, Whisper of the Worm
Submachine Gun: 3 weapons- Huckleberry, Riskrunner, Tarrabah
Sword: 2 weapons- Black Talon, World-line Zero
Trace Rifle: 3 weapons- Coldheart, Prometheus Lens, Wavesplitter
And now the Hand Cannons: 8 weapons- Ace of Spades, Crimson, Last Word, Lumina, Malfeasance, Sturm, Sunshot, Thorn
Eight! Eight hand cannons! Meanwhile, the second most we have our at four and sidearms have a pitiful 1 exotic, which is a shame because I personally love my Smuggler's Word and would love some more exotic sidearms. Out of all the seasons, the only one that did not see an exotic Hand Cannon released was Warmind. The only one! Why does Bungie have such a massive hard on for hand cannons? Please Bungie. This is kind of ridiculous. Give us more diversity in exotics. Give us another Machine Gun or Sidearm (preferably). We don't need this many Hand Cannons.

1 ReplyEdited by AUTOMATIK 2006: 7/4/2019 2:54:11 PMI was saying the same thing for awhile now. Their are some of us who don't like hand cannons but yet most of the meta's are hand cannons. It's obvious whoever is in charge of this portion of the game, is a hand cannon fan,.... no, hand cannon manic. Too many hand cannons. Stop already and give us more Scout's, Pulse's, ect.

2 RepliesWas never sure why queenbreakers and lord of wolves found a way into d2 but not dreggs promise

I hope they don’t release a smugglers word archetype exotic... namely because it’s damage is bugged (in a good way) and upon further inspection they might realize it.

Edited by ToRni27: 7/6/2019 10:32:39 PMBungie said that Forsaken Year 2 would be the year of hand cannons. People complained in year 1 not enough hand cannons XD So for me they delievered what they said before I bought this add on. But I hope that will change in Year 3 too.

1 ReplyEdited by Acnologia: 7/5/2019 9:32:04 PMU know what funny 😄....that there 2 more hand-cannons coming in shadow keep, the scope handcannon and eris’s loud lullaby
-
Yeah I would like some more exotic fusion rifles, sidearm, swords and auto rifles
-
2 RepliesThe only hand gun we should ever need.
-
8 out of like 54 really isn't that bad.
-
Some of them don’t even feel that great on console so not much point to have so many of them unless they change how HC feel like they do on PC
-
Hawkmoon please
-
Yeah but...... Hawkmoon?
-
But hawkmoon

1 ReplyBring back Trespasser. That thing was a beast in the crucible (everyone would use it and it’d become the next shotgun meta of the crucible but hey mix it up a little) They’re bringing back Bad Juju at some point I think, correct me if I’m wrong—I’ve heard whispers of its return to Destiny... same with Ice Breaker maybe? (That would be “fun” for crucible too lol) Might as well bring back Nova Mortis and Abbadon since they’re just different elemental incarnations of Thunderlord, would be nice to have some variety in the LMGs. Of course, we can’t forget about Super Good Advice—wait, everyone does. Oops. The problem with porting D1 exotics to D2 is that the more exotics they pull over, the more the community will complain—“why not just pull over all of them?”—also, one has to consider the amount of time Bungie employees would have to set aside in order to balance the exotics they bring over (especially ones that were already difficult to balance in the game to start with: Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker, Vex Mythoclast, and others come to mind).

Next up Hawkmoon, and after that First Curse!
-
It’s a gunslinger world, your just living in it.
-
Disagree. Never enough HCs. Bring The First Curse back next please!

1 ReplyNah - destiny has always been about hand canons . Glad they are embracing that . Keep them coming .
-
2 RepliesWe need more hand cannons
-
3 RepliesBungie: "Thanks for the Feedback. We will pass this (Guardians want more Exotic Hand Cannons) to the Devs".
-
I just want the Hawkmoon.
-
Hawkmoon
-
Thanks, now where's my First Curse and Hawkmoon?
-
Nah we need another 110 and hawkmoon
-
Don't forget we have another one at least coming in Shadow Keep.
-
What? You want Hawkmoon back too?
-
Damn we're in need of at least 2 more exotic Machine Guns and Sidearms to get them level (Machine guns might not be necessary as there aren't many overall)
