D2 is not doing good right now. I haven’t played it much because I don’t have a reason to. The grind feels sort of pointless to me. There may be a few cool looking pieces of armor but that’s it. Exotic guns do not feel exotic like they used to. Everyone wants to feel like a “boss” in D2 like they did in D1. Better exotic weapons would be a good start. Guns that actually feel “exotic.”

28 RepliesExotic Weapons (and Armor) are getting a pass from the Sandbox team. Their goal is to meet this feedback head on - make Exotics feel more Exotic. Additionally, we've heard the feedback on Questing. It's been passed along to the appropriate teams. Thanks for the post!

1 ReplyThey are coming in the future

8 RepliesI'm all good with difficult exotic quests, and prestige mode only exotic (like VexMyth etc), but only if they are worth the time. Mida was worth it, so far the rest of the quest weapons haven't been. Colony and Wardcliff could have been exotic quests, as those weapons also feel exotic. The biggest problem this game has with the exotics, is when they are powerful, not everyone has it, and they are strong in PvP. The don't haves then post walls about needing a nerf to (suros, mida, pocket infinity, gally, ice breaker, hawkmoon etc etc). Vex, Thorn and Prometheus are the only 3 I can think of, that actually warranted a change. But Vex and Thorn also had a grind behind getting them. If you put in the work, especially as a Hunter to get void kills for Thorn, then you should be rewarded with a kickazz gun. Not Sturm.... Idea: blueprint drops for weapons and armour via RNG from strike chests. Blueprint requires materials, kill data etc, much like the Mida quest, but a different way of obtaining the blueprint. Top tier blueprints only drop from NF or Raid, and require harder completion requirements e.g. must beat NF or Raid in a certain time, obtain a specific PvP efficiency, to be deemed "worthy" by Shaxx/Saladin/Zavala/Ikora etc to wield the weapon. These weapons would be on Gally/IBreaker etc level or higher. If you don't want to break PvP with it, have one perk on these weapons that deals less damage to Guardians, to bring them in line with top legendaries. Become legend in PvE, with balanced PvP... or, #Bungie, just do what should have been done in the beginning, and seperate the 2 modes.

The black spindle was the best they ever did imo. The 12 year old scrubs that play D2 would have failed miserably.

1 ReplyIt's the frequency at which you acquire exotics in this game that's the problem. I've had every exotic available from engrams for a long time, it's totally taken away the joy of obtaining one. Back in D1, getting an exotic was a real "yes!" moment. Now it doesn't matter. They want everyone to have everything easily, meaning the joy of getting something is diminished.

Something to cheer everybody up: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/3210322?sort=1&page=2

The worst thing is that more than half the exotic armor seem to be PvP centric which to some PvE players means they're useless.

1 ReplyTbh idk why the hell they don’t just release like 3 exotics every 2 months to keep the game and lore alive.
They’d have to do it for free which is probably why they have never even considered this...
Bring 2 reworked old ones and a new one. Add some quest for either or and watch the players get hype...

25 RepliesEdited by Dark Raven 2501: 2/6/2018 1:13:26 AMI want more guns but I DONT WANT ANY FN QUEST in the game keep that bull shit out. Exotics are supposed to be only sold through Xur because that the character purpose in the first place not this crap of hiding things behind quest so only a select minority have access to. Edit: in the first game we earned strange coins to buy exotics but it seems that the only people that I am attracting are the lows forms of life that only want to troll this post ....... I guess that there is no intelligent life in the community any more. Ps: if you don’t like my opinion you don’t have to comment on the topic

3 Repliesfor me, i spent my 4000 hours in Destiny grinding for god roll weapons, armor sets, primaries with burns, etc. It was all about the "thrill of the chase" so for a player like me this game burned us (loot grinders) the most. To fix it id ask for some of that back. D1 weapons to me were powerful feeling unlike D2 which fell sloppy and weak. At least the nightfall timer is going away and us solo players can grind the nightfall again. Also they are bringing back loot specific strikes but the rolls are static. that being said, what is the point of doing them more than once? I grinded forever to get a Treads Upon Stars with explosive rounds, perfect balance, etc. That was the fun of it.

2 RepliesI don't want more exotics I want interesting exotics. Right now the most interesting one is The Colony.

2 RepliesNo point unless they buff the shit out of them, currently most of them suck.

Yes, exotics should be more exotic. Quests? I'm pretty meh about those. I suppose it's better to know exactly how to earn a gun as opposed to RNG.
-
1 ReplyThe exotic quests like Spindle and ToM were awesome and are missed!

This is what I'm talking about, you guys ask the wrong questions. The definition of exotic doesn't mean powerful it means unique. If we had a gun that did no damage, but shot strips of bacon that then salsa danced off the map, it would be, by literal definition exotic. Things like this you need to know what you're talking about and what you're asking for. Otherwise you end up with stuff like the tractor Canon, fun and unique, but borderline useless

From what I understand they are adding them in, Berret outlined it on his twitter when someone asked "Can we expect too see Exotic quest like 'OutBreak Prime' and 'Black Spindle' To eventually return in D2" Berrets response "Yes"
-
This is how many scrubs cried because the exotic quest were to hard.
-
3 RepliesIf the caveat is that quest exotics are mid-tier and not endgame quality then ill say yes. The problem in Y2/Y3 is that too many items that should have been chase items were questified- and most quests were easy to do and did not require you to do anything harder than aheroic strike or nightfall strike. That left the endgame rewards severely lacking and it basically made running the raids irrelevant unless you like busting your ass for subpar weaponry and cosmetics. So long as the chase exotics are reserved for endgame, im down with quests and exotic bounties.
-
I agree I hardly use exotic as they have nothing special. I don't even use exotic armor. I have every exotic on all three characters but I uses better weapons instead
-
1 ReplyAs long as it’s attached to D2 it will suck

Interesting quests like the Khostov and year 3 Gjallarhorn would be amazing to see return. Except new quests for new weapons, and put them in a quest log! not wasting an inventory space. The lost prophecies worked better but it just ended up being a boring grind for nonsense materials. Ideally i'd like something unique (like similar to the plasma pistol from Halo for example) or maybe a detached turret where you gather materials on a scavenger hunt or something, perhaps optional parts that change perks (a stabilising unit reduces recoil, or you can use a mag-coil acceleration module for high impact rounds)
-
1 ReplyFor a limited while give an un-nerfed gjallarhorn to everyone let them feel that happiness one more time
-
It would be nice if those scannables worked their way into a missions/quests in general. They need to take some pages from adventure games honestly. Would be a fun way to hunt down and discover exotics.

That number to the left is not how many people want exotic quests. The number is MUCH BIGGER than that
