Dear bungie, if you include microtransactions in D2...

Here's an emote for you
🖕
Edit: For all the "don't buy" comments, it's the principle of it Edit 2: so, the principle is that the devs have plenty of cash, but plenty is not enough! They want all the money! We bought your $60 game, dlc, and you still give us reason to throw money at the screen. Glad to see the publishers appreciate the customers

  • Micro transactions are bad for a game when the things that can be purchased are game breaking. An example would be how in COD, you can get weapons, the best weapons, in the game from micro transactions

i will never understand people who hate microtransaction on principle... they are not inherently bad people, if you think they are then you are simply either jumping on a band wagon or don't understand how business works. If a company exists it exists to make money, and in the case of video game developers they CONSTANTLY need funds for more content. its not a "buy the game, pay more for DLC and they are set for life." scenario. Microtransactions that are for nothing more than random cosmetics and time saving boosts (like the boost to level 40 thing) are FINE. they don't impact the game at all, and only allow the company gain more funds for future projects or to continue support of the current one. Again i will say that as long as they are not selling game breaking weapons, or none cosmetic gear then they don't harm the game by existing. Heck they've even made the items obtainable without spending a dime, even if it is slower and sometimes RNG based... I could go on a huge explination of fixed costs and variable costs and how microtransaction are just a tool to help a business cover those... but that shouldn't have to be explained. It is rather common sense that people need money to stay in business. Never even mind the fact that even if a company is going to produce something anyway, and wants more funds to make it better that costs more money... i guess you hate crowd sourced projects that are already funded too by default then? Greed has nothing to do with it. Things costs money, and you have to gain that money somehow. Would it be good if you didn't have to pay for stuff? yes, but thats unreasonable and you know it. It is great when stuff in games does not cost extra, and everyone loves it but that is not the normal because of how businesses work. Honestly if you think this is greedy and underhanded i feel sorry for you when you run into real greed such as when people basically extort you for money because you have literally no where else to go and NEED the thing they are selling.

We spent $60 on it but then expect them to keep updating it for free? They gotta pay employees. They have overhead. Most games if you spend $60 that is all the game you are gonna get unless you buy dlcs. You have to pay for continuing content. As long as it stays cosmetics and such I don't see a problem. I haven't been in the crucible and said HEY THAT BASTARD HAD A GHOST GHOST HE BOUGHT WITH SILVER OP NO FAIIIIIR!!!!!! (Just before I get rez sniped by Ice Breaker :P)

    • The business's goal is to make money. If it wasn't highly successful they wouldn't do it. You can not tell me that if you ran a business and could make more money you wouldn't do it. It does literally nothing to you except make you salty. Grow up child.

    • Tell me the difference between overwatches and destinys microtransactions. Both are literally cosmetic only and are just fluff items that have no baring on the amount or quality of content we get. Both continue to give us exceptional free updates.

      • No problem with it as long as there is a slim chance to get the same content through rng. Don't care how slim.

      • Isn't the dream, nowadays, to get rich? There's no downside to the players, and Bungie gets a few extra bucks. So long as it stays that way, I don't see why it's a bad thing for them to do.

I don't think microtransactions belong in a $60 that also charges for dlc. It makes sense in free to play games and certain indie games but not in a full priced game like d2 will be.
This is all my opinion and if you wanna fight about it try to be civil

I'm just a bit too lazy to keep responding to every reply, if you think microtransactions are ok (why tho) go ahead and think that.
• The microtransactions in destiny are garbage, atleast in the division you can buy stuff that's actually worth it instead of RNG bs

What a fool, trying to say emotes and ornamental armor ruins a game that didn't even have them from the start
you can earn most of it through rng
I actually believe that bungie handles their microtransactions better than other companies. The ones in this game are just cosmetics, not real game affecting gear. Besides, bungie has given us chances for free cosmetics with the treasure boxes. I wont blame you for disliking microtransactions, but understand there is far worse out there.

          • What people don't realize, is that; the amount of time the devs put into microtransactions. That's less time spent adding actual content to the game.

You can't really blame bungie or activision. Put yourselves in their shoes, it's a product you can sell easily and unlimited amount of times and all the fans will buy it. Microtransactions are seen as sinister but like it or not they're genius.
