Obtaining gear through the companion app
The Destiny companion app is already pretty useful for in game actions, such as equipping and transferring gear and items between characters and the vault.
However, I would like to see the feature of obtaining gear through vendors in the app. I travel out of town pretty often, and usually on the weekends. A feature to buy items from xûr, for example, would be an awesome addition. Not only can this be used for xûr, but for other vendors as well, such as the vanguard vendors, the outfitter, ..etc.
So, what do you think? Is this a good idea or no? I know I would love it if this feature was brought over to the app.
EDIT: Awesome support so far! Glad to see I'm not the only one interested in this feature! Let's hope it will at least be considered at some point....

Being able to use the vendors would be nice. Not having to go to the tower to pick up bounties or shades because that's just a hassle.

Sounds cool, but it is a security problem I believe. Right now, by HAVING to log in on a console with the game and your credentials helps keep items from being deleted, money spent, and prevents basic shenanigans. I don't feel comfortable having an app being able to do anything like that. Reason being, if the official app could do it, the framework is in place for other apps to affect it as well, whether for good or bad. Pretty sure that's why it's not a thing now, and why you can only move things around.

I like the idea and I support, but Bungie needs their demographics on how many people that use social areas to stay high. Without it staying high, investors might say that they are wasting money and time making these spaces. Then they will retract money.

Love this, I could buy my 400+ heavy ammo synths while flying into activities and save me sitting in front of Xur for hours, or when I max my glimmer the app would save me from having g to make a trip to the tower to spend some.

I know that Apple takes a cut from Apps with a built in Store. I wonder what they would do with Strange Coins, Legendary Marks, and Glimmer?

there should be a reserve option for xur, in app you can choose something from xur to be reserved to the post master, you have until the following week to get it

4 RepliesFor most vendors I'd say yeah but you're supposed to find xur before you can purchase his goods. Granted it's not hard to find him but it would still render the hide and seek part irrelevant.

3 RepliesIt's not a terrible idea, I'd be down for that. The only issue is making sure you had a system in place to check the inventory and make sure the purchase is eligible, both for currency and item space. Alternatively, you can sync your laptop to your PS4 (not sure about XB1, probably the same) and plug your controller in to your pc. Remote play, get on and grab stuff, get off. Comes in handy at the office when I have nothing else to work on in a day.

I believe this is already on the community features wishlist. I want bounties added as well. Nothing worse than landing from orbit or sitting in matchmaking to find out you forgot to pick up the bounties :p
