I miss returning to orbit after your fireteam died it made things difficult and hard and required teamwork now kids are complaing about drops from a nightfall that is easier then baiting a hunter in to crying nerf.
Thanks for the great comments guys. Good to see some year one players still around on the forums.
I made a mistake saying it was harder in year one. I really just worded it wrong. The reason for me it was " harder" in year one was because when you got sent to orbit because of a little mistake it was degrading and made it so much longer and more frustrating causing more mistakes. The actually difficulty of the strikes was easier in year one with a few exceptions.

We always just cheesed it by going to orbit and re-joining. I kinda liked the difficulty though. It trained you to get better at pve. Just wish there were better rewards/limited chances to complete it.

2 RepliesArc burn and lightswitch Omnigul. *Shudders*

Who remembers when nightfall rewards were actually worth it.... Oh yeah and blue flame experience buff.....
-
Arc Burn, Light Switch on Devil's Lair. I would always forget about the Dregg's and their stupid little Arc daggers and get insta killed.
-
You mean when they were still soloable?

Edited by Kizo: 7/8/2016 2:10:46 AMWhile I do have fond memories of almost yelling and laughing my heart out at the other 2 members of my team dying, I mostly like the way they are now. Changes I'd like though... Shorten the Revive timer down to 15 or 10. This is a high difficulty Strike. Not a Raid. And just... Maybe better rewards for the extra effort, yeah?
Bring back the blue flame and XP boost. Bungie please.
1 ReplyI remember doing sepiks with arc. Died when he was at 2%...

Edited by Potato Chip: 7/7/2016 9:28:45 PMLittle to no challenging content left in this game. All the noobs and casuals complained about not being rewarded for the pitiful effort they put forth. What we're left with is the "everybody wins! :D" content. No challenge. No reason to get better. Blah boring. Nightfall is so easy now, I often forget until the rewards screen. And I'm like "oh shit, I thought that was a heroic!"
-
1 ReplyThey were never actually difficult. the "challenge" came from enemies doing stupidly high damage and/or you being under leveled/geared. And being sent to orbit didn't add difficulty. All it did was harshly punish a single mistake. It wasn't hard to get back to where you died. Just time consuming. Though I bet you think that good difficulty means making bosses one hit you no matter what your character's stats or gear is.
-
I think it was easier. You could just spam revives. Also we had primary burn weapons.
-
-
I hated it then but miss it now lol
-
They were harder but faster to finish and WAY more rewarding.
-
Oh god. To come out victorious was a challenge in itself. On your own? Oh reader mine. Some weeks, that was a death sentence. Some weeks I was happy to take my Heroic Strike Strange Coins and wait for XUR. That's how afraid I was of Nightfalls... And the loot. The loot was GLORIOUS. Now? Pfft. Who needs a Ghost Shell when you can farm 3 of coins.
-
Well it was either have the old nf's with primary with burns or have a newer somewhat easier nf and no primary burn. The thing about you idiots is that you cry for everything. I remember one week had solar burn and it was shield bros, wow everyone was crying how hard it was and a waste of time. You crybabies cry for everything. Right now it's crying about how the pvp quest is on the Moments of T, and how long it is. If the quest was short then people would cry it's too short. Wtf
-
It's still hard as shit. Not because the bosses, but because my raid team is always clueless
-
I hope in Y3 they bring back the old nigthfall
-
I remember when nightfall a were fun and had a point now it's like meh I don't really care
-
They are now sub par heroic strikes.

6 RepliesI remember the first time i did the Nightfall. It was insane. I was level 24 i think. Got kicked to orbit once from the boss fight - those blue flames were worth it though! Remember when my buddy solo'd nightfall and we all thought he was a god. Now we don't even bother running it because it drops nothing, no XP bonus, no blue flames. Literally just another strike.
-
So how about that week 1 nightfall. Where it took so many hours to complete because everyone was so under leveled. I somehow did it and got my first exotic thunderlord
-
2 RepliesWeek 1 of the Dark Below omnigul arc burn. Worst thing I've experienced.
-
Am a beta player on both systems, and get over this ish. Arguing it does not make you look big and bad in front of the fifth grade hotly on the playground
-
Lol I remember when Nightfalls were fun. I remember when everything was fun! It was back before I realized that we're all slated to do the same stupid thing over and over, every day, for 9 months until Bungie decides to drop their "expansion", which is about 20 hours of worthwhile playtime, which you then have to repeat for another 9 months until we get Destiny 2. Rinse and repeat.

1 Reply"Guardian down" "Guardian down" "Last Guardian standing" Guardian: "Hey, go hide somewhere. We'll leave and rejoin in a minute." Last Guardian: "Alright dude, I'll wait." I did this all the time.

I remember the days when you had to have at least one sunsinger on the team to prevent a wipe and starting over from the beginning. Having checkpoints is good but I wouldn't mind if they increased the difficulty.
