Tips for trials

I've been playing trials all weekend and found no success, my friend is in the top ten percent in trials and I just want to stop -blam!-ing dying. I know how to Rez snipe and all of the basics but I need help improving . Thanks.

      • Kind of difficult to give any kind of suggestions without seeing a video of your gameplay... Which I know you can record a reasonable length video on Xbox one, I assume you can on PS4 too... So record yourself playing trials if you are on one of those consoles and show us how you play first

      • Stay out of main sniper lanes unless you can out snipe them and beat them to that spot. Stay off the awnings. Stay with your team and don't die in the middle of the map.

        • Listen to call outs... actually listen and react to them. Practice NOT DYING... Try to stick together and push together. As soon as you kill 1 enemy EVERYONE has to push together WHILE staying out of sniper lanes. Don't challenge sniper lanes unless you're in a good spot to be revived and you're confident you can win. Don't randomly throw your nades, save them for when you KNOW you can land a hit and you're ready to push, if you're not ready to push don't throw them, use defensively.
I know how to Rez snipe
Found your problem! Don't let them revive, push them if you get one down.

For myself I played alot of rumble and salvage before the release of Trials to teach myself to hold my own and work as a team. I haven't looked up your stats but if you feel like you can already hold your own and can take on a team rushing you in some situations then you're in a good place. Learning callouts is important. If you're in a chat and it's silent throughout the match or just very limited you're going to have a bad time after your 5th or 6th game. Look up the trials map each week then google said map - callouts. You'll find images made by the community that highlights key locations to say to your teammates. Finally, I'd strongly recommend trials report, a website dedicated to find the weapons and stats of your enemy team before you even land your ship into the game from orbit. I also use this to find the stats off my own team so that we all have somewhat similar stats and nobody is getting carried to make it a smooth run to lighthouse.
I don't claim to be some sweaty pro haha though I've had plenty of experience. Top 1% in trials at an overall K/D of 2.13 with 80% + wins.
I feel it's to late unless you're really good in the first place. Played my first trials in while tonight and my god it's on another level of sweat compared to what it used to be lol. Everyone is a mlg pro sniper now apparently, and no poor teams at all like you faced in the past. I mean that's fine, good for them. But I just think if you're not on their level now you've missed the boat. Just my feelings from playing tonight to be honest.

              • My tip don't play it, trials is the worst mode on destiny it is so boring now. Players will sell their soul if they could see a virtual lighthouse. It's sad now to see everyone treat every match like it is life or death mode.

              • I liked a recent video I made so you can watch how I Rex snipe. It isn't an instructional, but it's 99% sniping and I think you could pick a thing or 2 up if you watch how I snipe. The key to Rez sniping is timing, you have to wait for the persons head to pop back up before you shoot or it will say immune. Another tip, would be to not go into the obvious sniping lanes on any map. Chances are there will always be a more skilled sniper on the other end of it. If you wanna run trials with me sometime I can give you pointers on he fly!

                  • I'm not very good myself but from my experience and tips from people I've learned: Pick your battles(Don't run in to a fight versus 2 people) Know your way out(Running can be the best option) Play orbs (You don't want a 1v1 situation to be a 2v1 and the other team has overshields) Common sense is your best friend Overall just have fun. Way too much salt is in pvp.

                  • You might be like me: you enjoy PvP and want to be better but in the end all we can do is rock PvE.

                  • Try not to die and be good at running away. Learn map awareness and angles where you know you can have the advantage in the majority of gun fights

                  • Find a set group to run with I.e. play with the same two guys every trials after a while you will begin to get a feel for each other's play styles allowing you to recognize their strengths and play to their weakness. It'll create a well rounded team for you, also play a lot of elimination get a feel for all the maps in rotation, this will help determine weapon selection and routes. Above all try and have fun with it you'll be amazed at how many "pro" plays you can pull off when your relaxed and having fun. I'm by no mean a pro these are just things that have helped me become a better player.

Most of the ppl who are good at trials play pvp and shooters all the time and play with the same players typically. No other way then to dedicate a large amount of time to practice.
