Do not spawn with special ammo

Reason I say this is that some people as you will see like to use a sniper the entire game. These weapons are called SPECIAL for a reason. They're not called primary's for the same reason. Please vote seriously.

    • Honestly nothing is wrong with 1000 yard, bungie basically gave it away so everyone has a chance to use the same sniper, if you can't use it you're just bad. It's aim assist isn't even that great.

      • I use everything but fusion rifles and side arms just saying, I could care less if someone uses a sniper just means you need to adapt, in my case is spray all my primary down the hall while going back and fourth out of cover to screw the aim up. Works 50% of the time. Yes I was a thorn felwinters lie player, so come at me idc

        • Should only spawn with 1 mag of any special if you want more you can get 1 mag from special crates, the only sniper being used as a primary should be NLB.

          • The solution would be to give a greater variety of high-impact snipers...I don't have one, but I'm almost sure the reason for them running rampant is because that's pretty much the better of the two currently available and popular high-impact Legendaries.

            If all the primaries hadn't been nerfed to bîtchslap range, snipers wouldn't be so used. The midrange battle has been destroyed by bungie's constant meddling with weapons.

          • The biggest issue with special weapons is that they kill so quick compered to primary's, although that might sound obvious I think the ttk on primary's is far to long, and that's what made shotguns seem op and now snipers. If they buffed everything back up Abit so high impact autos could kill in 5-7 headshots, handcanons actually hit what you aimed at, give scouts a little power buff and put pulses back to how they were. You could counter snipers at close/medium range and if you saw a shotguner running at you you could kill them. because at the min they just run through primary bullets like they aren't there.

          • None of the above. There isn't a "Thousand Yard problem." The gun is used by so many people because. 1. It is one of the best sniper rifles in the game right now. 2. Everyone gets a chance to get one GIVEN to them for completing story missions. 3. Its one of only two PVP-ready snipers that hit hard enough to rez snipe. So you'll see it a lot in Trials. 4. The vast majority of Year Two Crucible maps have lots of open territory, and long-sight lines. Which favor mid-to-long range engagements. Which is also why pulse rifles were so dominant. if you are tired of getting sniped, stop running around the map with your head down. Unless you are dealing with a mobile sniper...someone who can free range across the map and snipe at anything beyond mid-range.....snipers need long sightlines and/or chokepoints to work. Learn where these are on every map....and be careful whenever entering one. Because a lot of snipers will just stand off and hardscoep these places.

                My real solution (to all special ammo) (I've posted this once before) Spawn w 1.5 mags for high impact snipers, high impact shotguns in normal crucible matches. 1.0 in trials. (Armor perks do not affect spawn ammo) 2.0 mags for lower impact archetypes. 4.0 mags for sidearms. Currently, when you get kills people can drop primary ammo boxes... I only notice on long streaks, sometimes you actually run low and need to grab them. My idea is to [i][u]completely remove all green crates[/u][/i] Primary (and maybe melee) kills will either add directly to your reserves, or drop small amounts of special ammo. Any other type of kill: grenade, super, special, heavy doesn't do anything. The amount would be: 1 round for high impact snipers/shotguns 2 rounds for lower sniper/shotguns 1.0-1.5 mags for sidearms (as this is my least used special, the idea is enough to get 1 kill, maybe 2, but definitely not 3.) This would allow a reasonable amount of special use, stop the "box time memorization hoarding," encourage diversity of weapons, and [b][i][u]force primary use.[/u][/i][/b] I believe this accomplishes the largest set of goals without targeting any single weapon, but rather the entire special class, especially the most powerful/popular. Icebreaker and invective would/should have timers further adjusted or perks removed in PvP.
