So how much grimoire do you need to be considered a "veteran"?

I have just over 4000. I think that's good enough. EDIT: I don't consider myself a "veteran". I played the beta but didn't get the full game until early February

  • He was in year one... You are a vet IF you have beaten Atheon, Crota, and Skolas on hard.

Requirements to be a Destiny veteran: ●Did you push of Atheon of the edge? ●Did you pull the chord on Crota? ●Did you cry electric tears after beating Skolas on Arc burn? ●Did you cry electric tears after giving up on Skolas on Arc burn, because evrything was more OP than Thorn? Oh yeah that reminds me... ●Did you see the vex back when it could whipe a six man team ×2 without reloading? ●Do you remember shotpackage? ●Do you remember Felwinters lie? ●Have you spawned in to a trials game to hear two sniper shots fired off into nothing... ●Do you remember the loot cave? ●Do you remember geting blues from -blam!-ing legendaries? ●Do you remember the heavy ammo drought of 2015 ●Do you remember #forever29 ●Have you ever seen a fusion rifle with Javelin as a perk? ●Do you remember Husk of the pit & its screwed up drop rate? ●Do you remember the disappointment that was the necrochasm? ●Have you seen a crux of crota drop? ●Most importantly do you remember dinklebot? ●Do you remember the farming routes for the planets? ●Do you remember the infinite self rez glitch? ●Do you remember the tower before kiosks? ●Do you remember the solar heavy weapon that you would use regardless of burn modifiers? ●Do you remember when there was more than four strikes in the nightfall? ●Do you remember the weekly heroics with three different difficulties (adjustable)? ●Do you remember the ultra captain? ●Do you remember randal the vandal? ●Did you take part in the first ever queens wrath? ●SHIT HOW COULD I HAVE LEFT THIS OUT, DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN YOU HAD BLUE FLAMES OVER YOUR HEAD FOR COMPLETING A NIGHTFALL? Edits below: ●How could I not mention when crucible marks and vanguard marks were a thing. ●Vanguard/crucible comendations. ●Do remember grown man scream like little girls, when they got Ghorn? ●NIGHTFALLS USED TO SEND YOU TO ORBIT IF YOU WIPED. ●Do you remember when normal crucible ammo drops were like that of mayhem. -The heavy ammo glitch with Icebreaker. -The big maps in crucible. -Smoggypluto, the legengd. This was posted somewhere else. I really had a lot of fun during these days of Destiny.

    • 4500+ and if you don't have that yet, you MUST have owned and played destiny over 2500 hours dating back before the Dark Below days.. If not, then you are not a veteran. Day 1 players who are still playing today are considered "Legends".. Sadly I came in 7 weeks after release so I only have Veteran status. Smh

Easy. Were you on Bungie.net when it was the Halo.Bungie.net layout? You're a vet. Otherwise, you're new.

            • I'd say over 4k. That was the benchmark I set for myself. I don't care much about grimoire score. But I did want to be at least 4k.

            • Anyone that thinks Grimoire is a thing that makes you a vet is a small dick bitch. Don't listen to anyone when they say it means anything whatsoever.

              • I'd consider knowledge and experience/ability to help others to be more of a qualification to be a veteran. You can look up how to get the grimoire from ghosts etc. On YouTube.
Bungie considers everyone that has TTK for over a week a veteran. Refer-a-friend *cough*
• It's just a title man. Don't sweat it. There's quite a few of us left who have played nearly every day since the Alpha/Beta/First Week - but most of us are unfortunately egotistical about it and make a huge deal over a meaningless title. Play the game because you enjoy playing it and enjoy playing with other people, don't worry about titles.

                • Easiest way to know if someone has been around a long time is if they have aquired the launch day emblem, vanilla gear such as the weapons and faction class items. Some can argue that alpha and beta are true veterans but those are research and development phases. Whole different category because some would have play tested during R&D but didn't pick up the game until TtK. Being a veterans doesn't make you better then the rest. It's a game, just have some fun.

                • More than that. But honestly no one should really care. You enjoy playing the game? That's all that matters

                • It does and it doesn't. Someone can be a vet and have low grimoire. It is all about playtime. Now if I see a 3500 grimoire on a level 35, I am going to assume they are new.

                  • I guess you can consider yourself a veteran... but without a HM Oryx kill I am seriously doubting the skill of the veteran. Or maybe you are a PvP only player then it really wouldn't matter what I think cause we wouldn't ever play together anyway :)

                    • I wouldn't consider Grimoire to be the single determining factor. More of a combination of that & how long someone has been playing. Just my .02
