I challenge anyone to name a console game that you've played for more than 150 hours total play time that only cost you $60 base plus $30 for two DLC packs.
Go ahead... I'll wait.
(No but seriously are there any other games that have sucked up as much time of yours as Destiny? I've played over 1100 hours. Which is moderately embarrassing to say! I would say with absolute certainty that I've gotten my money's worth out of this game!)
Edit: Oblivion & Skyrim are popular replies. Crazy for games without multiplayer support requiring you to run around a massive landscape doing random missions. I beat skyrim and topped out at about 115 hours before I had to slap myself in the face before playing it anymore.

Edited by 氷水啼エジル・ギュミ: 9/8/2015 10:24:22 PMYes. And I'm hoping someone else here can share my passion. But Monster Hunter. There are so many of them I don't know which ones to say specifically. Currently, the latest version is on 3DS and all the DLC for the game is always free. It's made by Capcom. Dont let the idea of it being on 3DS fool you. This game has so much content in it, you can have over 1,000 and still have something you haven't done or you may not have achieved maxed rank. I've never had a Monster Hunter game with over 1,000 hours clocked in. But I've played several of them and had at least 500 hours clocked in at the most (remember this is across several different monster Hunter games). Most people fall in love with this game because there is so much to do and you can play with up to 4 people online. Customizable weapons and armor usually ranging with well over 300 armor pieces and literally over 300 weapons. The game has a crazy customization you won't get when you first pick it up and the beginning is very slow. Most fans hate playing the beginning of MH games because of the pick up it takes starting over but most enjoy it anyway too. No one likes starting over. But that's every game to be honest. I can't think of any other game I've spent hundreds of hours on other than games like Minecraft and Halo 1 on PC. I used to be a PC gamer so spending hundreds of hours on a game was nothing to me. I can't recommend any console games I've spent over 300 hours on other than Wii and Wii U games for games like Smash Bros. Destiny is probably the first CONSOLE game I've spent the most time on. Edit: Oh and Skyrim. I actually had about 900 hours on that.

Are you still waiting?

Edited by #dopeknightrises: 9/8/2015 4:24:06 PMBorderlands, still not as much time spent as destiny but it's over 150 that's for sure Oh shit and witcher and GTA, gta is a big one, I'm dumb.
-
Fallout 3, oblivion, skyrim. If you think about it, the amount of hours destiny actually had is 50 hours at best, actual time of content. DLC adds maybe 4-5 hours. So 60 hours worth of content.
-
It is funny that there are a ton of people listing things like Halo or Diablo. Or Dark Souls. Anything. ALL of these games have finite stories substantially lower than 100 hours. It comes down to how many times someone is willing to replay that same content. I could say that Bejeweled Deluxe is a 50 hour game just by playing it for 50 hours. That doesn't mean it has that much content, it just means you replayed it a ton. This is ridiculous. Play it or dont.

Borderlands 1/2.
-
DkS1/DkS2 And they have multiplayer support. So...meh.
-
Cod black ops 2 zombies was amazing and fallout 3. Those games were amazing so I'm pretty stoked for black ops 3 and fallout 4

150 hours is nothing to an RPG player. Here's a few games I've sped past 150 hours in: Dragons Dogma Skyrim Oblivion Mass Effect Mass Effect 2 Mass Effect 3 Dragon Age Origins Dragon Age 2 Dragon Age Inquisition Witcher 3 Kingdoms of Amalur Fallout 3 Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2
-
I'm an avid Dark Souls player. I have spent around 780 hours playing on both DkS 1 and 2.
-
Morrowind is probably the only game that I've spent more time on than Destiny.
-
Any souls game, skyrim, Fallout 3, kingdoms of amalur could easily get to that level too actually. I am glad the grind is still fun and challenging in Destiny. Though it can get a little redundant, the redundancy started kicking in for me right as 2.0 was going to launch so I'm all good. And I never started other characters, so learning all the playstyles adds new elements. I think sometimes people don't appreciate, as this thread signifies, just how much you actually can do in Destiny, even if it does have some repetitiveness. All games have repetitive elements. This has ended up one of the better ones for it.

Guitar hero!
-
Fallout 3 and Fallout new Vegas. Gladly put more than 800 hours each. Oblivion and Skyrim probably 800+ together
-
Sonic Riders for the PS2. It was the only game I had at the time so I just played that nonstop. Oh the memories

Edited by BrunkyDLuffy: 9/8/2015 3:56:41 PMTales of Vesperia - I played 120 hours on just my first play through. I loved it so much, I didn't want to beat it. There was so much to do! And the combat was smooth... flawless. The story was deep and engaging. The characters had real depth. Mass Effect - I have played ME1 from beginning to end DOZENS of times. Story and characters, plus class/gear customization? I'm in. Each play through was about 40 hours. I still go back and play it. ME 2 - I beat at least 6 times. Same reasons as above. Halo - I can't count how many times I beat the first 2. I beat all levels on Legendary difficulty like it was nothing. I was a SERIOUS Halo nerd. I can't count the hours I've put into old NES games like Megaman 2 and Contra. Then there are playstation games like Twisted Metal. Some people focus on games like I do, and others move on to bigger and better things. No big deal either way. Play your games, have fun.
