Okay, story time. So last night, I was running Crota's End on normal with a bunch of 30s and 31s, which was obviously fine. After 0 unintentional wipes and our run clocking in at about 20 mins, they were all very confident in their abilities, and wanted to run hard mode. Most of them had level 32 mains, but one guy maxed out at level 30. I agreed to carry him through, on the terms that our sixth guardian (we lost one after finishing normal) was a 32 with a Gjallarhorn. We were already lacking on firepower, this would really help. So we get on the lfg, and the only person that responds after like 10 minutes is another level 30. I was so done with waiting (don't get me wrong these guys were hilarious to talk to), I decided to carry two level 30s through Hard Mode. As y'all know they can't even damage anything after the abyss. I have low hopes. Part 1: The Abyss It's a complete nightmare. Every time we pass the 2nd lamp we loose at least four, if not five. Consistently me and another hunter are getting through safely, but toward the end he kept blaming up and getting me killed (meleeing of the rock, bumping me into thrall, etc). After seven or so tries, somehow one of the level 30s, a Titan, makes it to the end with me, and we clear it thanks to my Ghorn and his Bubble. I've gained a little respect. Part 2: The Bridge The Bridge was a little smoother. Not possible legit with two 30s, who can no longer damage anything, so obviously we go for the cheese. Nobody can get up top, but we had two sunsingers that revived after I got across, and yeah, you know how to cheese it. No further detail. Part 3: The Deathsinger I think I could've soloed VoG faster than we finished this checkpoint, wipe after wipe after wipe. I eventually gave up on them and soloed it. How, I don't know. Lotta lucky shooting I guess. Level 30 Titan gets a Red Death here, and one of the 32 warlocks pulls a Suros, so we're all excited again ^_^ Part 4: The Son of Oryx Here's a joke: how many Gjallarhorns does it take to kill Crota? I don't know, because we had none! (Well, other than me, but I was running sword). Some quick thinking and a lot of balls from my teammates, and a sunsinger decides to stand on the left rock (I'm swording from right) and pop radiance to fusion grenade+ignite Crota. Coupled with our firing squad of One Way Tickets, it was enough to to down him, albeit slowly. No time for three downs; which means we have to go to the third sword... Oh dear. Anyway, these guys go total clutch, and even with the level 30s just sitting in the crystal room, we clear ogres. However, on the way back up, my hunter buddy gets boomered. Oversoul gets killed, but we're now down to 3 players. As fate would have it, they're my two sunsingers. Third Sword, first down: I drop the sword, fire two Ghorn rockets, and their OWTs are enough to down him. 16 hits - enrage. I'm out of rockets, their time to shine. Simultaneous radiance, and the fusion grenades come flying. It's a race between his shields and the oversoul! Crota drops, 1 hit gets landed, and the oversoul explodes. I keep spamming RT out of pure frustration, and suddenly hear Crota's scream... We killed him after the oversoul killed us! I don't know if this was a glitch, or perfect timing, but the two Gjallarhorns that dropped for my fireteam felt so earned. TL;DR - impossible odds, clutch play, and a double Ghorn drop. Inb4 if they were so bad why didn't you leave: they were awesome guys and we were having fun, even if the raid wasn't perfect. I know this was long, but thanks for reading!
