I see that a lotta people only play PVE. I just don't understand how you can willingly ignore such a huge part of the game. I'm curious as to why.
Edit: I'm really not hating. I'm just looking for different points of view. To each his own.
Game on!
Edit: Come on guys lets not start a civil war here. Weather it's PVP or PVE we are all playing the same game here.
Btw: holy crap approaching 500 responses. Haha

I do 99% pve simply because of server issues with the pvp and the non stop cry fest
-
I just like pve way more and I'm not a fan of Crucible even though it isn't super difficult.
-
I guess they play pve because they want to. Its no concern of mine why they play pve or pvp. I just enjoy what I do on destiny not why others only play pve. So sorry I couldnt answer the question.
-
In my opinion... PvE makes up about 90% of this game. That doesn't stop me from playing crucible whenever I finish my raids and night falls however
-
Because I stink at pvp.
-
Well Destiny was sold that the core of the game was PvE with PvP on the side. But then the game got Activisionized at the last minute and PvP is more of a core component, or in other words have more attention towards it, than PvE. Shows through the lack of playlists, unimaginative maps, balance, and retarded reward system. So, yeah, not a huge fan of PvP.
-
I'll do PvP for bounties but between strikes, raids, nightfalls, public events x3, and helping Christmas noobs, PvP just doesn't really grab me like PvE does
-
I stick to PVE mainly because I rage when I play PVP lol.
-
3 RepliesLol cuz playing the same pvp maps is boring just like in pve. But at least in pve there is a little more variety and better rewards. Also you cant hit 32 from playing pvp lol iron banner cant even help you pvp's
-
Cuz pvp is all shotguns and frankly quite annoying
-
Honesty PvP usually really just pisses me off. Sometimes I suck and sometimes I don't. But I always get irrationally angry no matter how well I do, and that's just dumb to me so I avoid it usually unless there's an exotic bounty I need. And I once grinded Iron Banner so I could get gold spiral on my titan. That was the most stressful week of my life.
-
People are creatures of habit that like to be rewarded...ergo pve
-
I consider PvP to be around 1% of the game. I think the game would be better without it to be honest. I wish they had spent the time making more story instead of multiplayer maps.
-
I don't play much PVP because I have not recieved a decent reward for my time beyond level 20. I would rather smash out ROC strikes because there I am rewarded more often with decent gear. I'll play some IB when there is gear up for grabs that interest me.

Edited by firemedic623: 2/7/2015 7:22:05 PMI rarely play crucible because the matchmaking is horrible. I am rarely paired with people that are of the same skill level as I. I suck at PVP and I'm okay with that ... But there is no reason I shouldn't be able to play with others that suck so that it is somewhat fun. It's no fun to get continuously dominated over and over for hours. I understand the matching will never be perfect but it could be a million times better. Iron banner is a different story ... I understand that it's for the best of the best, I am not including that circumstance in my opinion.
-
Same thing could be directed to those that only do PvP. I mainly do strikes and when I'm really bored or have an exotic bounty for it then I'll jump into PvP. I don't think I'm terrible by any means, Its Just not something I've ever really been able to get into ( not in WoW, Halo, Destiny, etc..)

Bungie forgot how to make a good pvp after halo 3. The good ol days.

Edited by ShadowOrine: 2/7/2015 7:16:30 PMPvP causes to much stress for me and buddies since lag screws with us. Otherwise I probably be playing it a little more.

*whether
-
I play both for the bountys and Xp for leveling guns
-
Because PVE is fun, not many people like to get on PVP and fight with bugs, glitches, and people who use try hard weapons.
-
Edited by shinsengumi6163: 2/7/2015 7:13:31 PMI kind of agree with this. I started with doing PVE only, buuuut you quickly run out of content. I started sprinkling in PvP out of boredom but didn't do too well until I started changing and learning my load out for better PvP. I started out at like .23 KD but now I generally get that 1+ average. And if I'm not doing some major PvE content, nightfall, raid, etc then I only log on for PvP
-
I get tired of non guaranteed loot, and players who don't go for the objectives on control....I'll play with friends but otherwise pvp is just wasting time for me
-
I don't see how the same map cycling over and over is a big part of the game :p I just don't enjoy pvp on destiby but other games yes :3 (lol MOP blood death knights....)
-
Both are fun but pvp has shitty loot and it's just as repetitive as pve, if not moreso.

Edited by Dan J Huls: 2/7/2015 7:08:33 PMPvP in general is for competition, PvE can be relaxing or exciting with cooperative elements, I've played out PvP in other games and lost interest in the entire premise. The coalescing attempt of balancing weapons, abilities and ranges to seem fair, competitive, and functionally it is inherently flawed with compromises detract from actual strategy for most, though when practiced can be accomplished. The most impressive thing I recall seeing was in an MGO tournament where a team of 6 set a brilliant feint as a distraction, sent 1 to capture and return, then the other 5 barricaded the pursuit route, sounds simple, but their utilization of terrain and timing were well practiced, and it was in a snowstorm setting. Just doesn't interest me anymore, no hate, have fun.
