how do some people only play PVE?

I see that a lotta people only play PVE. I just don't understand how you can willingly ignore such a huge part of the game. I'm curious as to why. Edit: I'm really not hating. I'm just looking for different points of view. To each his own. Game on! Edit: Come on guys lets not start a civil war here. Weather it's PVP or PVE we are all playing the same game here. Btw: holy crap approaching 500 responses. Haha

    • Simply put, the PVP in Destiny is one of my least favorite pvps of any game I've played. I just can't enjoy it.

    • Look at nav menu. Notice the little crucible circle. Then notice that everything else is pve. Thats why.

    • Main reason was the lag. Absolutely horrible lag. It's a lot better now but then there's the maps that are near exclusively close quarters leading to most everyone running ARs shotguns and fusions. The small close range focused maps are what made me stop playing CoD multiplayer. It's the feel that ARs or smgs can shoot the same range as a sniper by map design but smgs and ARs sight in faster so what's the point of using a DMR or sniper? Then there's the crucible system itself that ends up creating "crucible" weapons. Those that are usually uncommon or rare with with a stat role designed to be a transition weapon for those needing a good weapon while starting to collect legendaries. For those trying to understand the multiplayer types I like, I prefer maps that offer more potential long range engagements. My favorite multiplayer in recent years has been battlefield. Big maps, long sight lines, tons of possible places to take shots from. There is no "sniper" tower. Any give hill or ridge can give you a decent vantage point. But it still has routes you can take to stay out of longer range engagements. Halo maps like blood gulch were my favorites in the halo series. Out of all the destiny pvp maps skyshock is my favorite. It has a good mix of close quarters and open sight lines. I do occasional enjoy destiny pvp, but it's not something I'd want to do regularly.

    • The problem I have with pvp is that every mode is essentially the same. I do pvp, but not often. Not to say pve doesn't suffer the same repetition, because I've slowed down with it as well.

"huge" Not a lot to do in PvP, especially with the few maps and modes and the small amount of variety thanks to imbalanced stuff and the scrubs who use them. Fun to jump into every now and then for a few games, but not something I could do forever.

    • I play both. Calling PVP with a few garbage maps and a couple garbage game modes "a huge part of the game" is an absolute joke.

    • I just overall find it more enjoyable. I don't have to deal with try hards, lag, and cheapness. Overall outside of raids PvE is just way more laid back experience for me.

    • Mostly because I play alone and I always get on crappy teams and I'm not a good player and I know it and when I finish first or second im like OK bad team, then no useful rewards ever and finally when I do get in a team with pros they rage and quit and send hate mail to us casual players because we are not as good as them and I play for fun and I hate people who take games so seriously so I prefer playing bland repetitive but fun PVE alone.

They just can't stand pvp in general(understandable) or they are cod or halo whores use to the standard "even" pvp. If destiny didn't have pvp I would only have maybe 300hrs in the game. I have at least 1325hrs logged

    • I'm there with you OP, I don't get it. PvP is really fun in this game. I feel like some people on the forums get some kind of satisfaction out of bashing it but there's so much more to bash in PvE. I've started looking at PvP bounties before PvE ones now because I realize that I just have such a better time playing PvP regularly than killing Telthor in Chamber of night for the 100th time.

      • To me, in a RPG or RPG-like game, PvP is never core, it's always an add on. Destiny might be a bit of a stretch to be labeled RPG-like, but that's kinda how I feel about it. That and competitive (just about any game) just pisses me off anymore, so for the sake of my sanity and blood pressure, I don't play it.

      • Because there's no reward to me in pvp, I like leveling characters and guns etc.. Trying to solo everything. Pvp is just "oh look I shot 20 people" and received a blue engram for it

        • Honestly the pvp is a small portion of the game not large.

          • I do not enjoy PvP in Destiny but understand that some people enjoy it. Sometimes the constant cry of nerf this nerf that hurts the PvE.

          • The pvp is so laggy. They keep adjusting weapons to fix pvp so they know it is broken but with the lag issues on pvp it's a losing battle in my opinion. All they are doing is screwing with the guys that only play pve. The good pvp players will adjust to whatever gun they need to no matter what nerf and buffs they do to the guns. So in the end it just seems like it's going to be a roller coaster of nerf and buffs that never ends. I wish they would adjust guns in pve and pvp separately so the pve only players don't have to suffer from the bad pvp player getting shit on by the good players. Like I said the good players will adjust to whatever gun they need to and the bad players will still be bad. So if scout rifles for example are now going to be the most powerful weapon I'm pvp. The good players will still destroy the bad (with scout rifles) and then we will see another nerf I'm sure in the future on scout rifles.

pvp in this game is boring, the maps are too small, the gametypes have been done before & alot better in other games. I play pvp every now & then to muck about but its rare. Simply put.. if i wanna play gametypes like the ones in destiny i,ll stick in a different game thats actually fun.

          • The Destiny Guide to: Being Good In PvP! Here is a simple equation that will make ANYONE WHO PLAYS DESTINY good at Crucible :) Bad connection + Supercharging 1 person + Shotgun sliding/melee + Camping with sniper in spawn + Sitting in titan bubble + OnlyUseMeSUROS = Now you're a fucking pro! Go rek kids now! :D
