Husk of the pit glitch
so ive done the fist of crota nearly 500 times or atleast thats what it feels like i dont know the exact number but i'v been doing about 25-30 attempts per hour and i'v grinded this for almost 20 hours. not getting the husk of the pit isnt whats bothering me (aside from the fact that my GF got the gun on her 4th try) its the simple fact that it feels like it may be glitched for my account. to my knowledge the black wax idol and the silken codex should be falling off ultra's and going to the ground so they can be received via proximity by the character, but through my many failed attempts i have received the black wax idol and the silken codex in the same manner that the husk of the pit is supposed to be received (like a quest reward) i don't know if it's a glitch that may be stopping me from getting the husk of the pit were i am getting thease items the same way and not receiving the husk of the pit. but either way i beleive it should be looked into. only because if this curse (lol) is afflicting my account how many other poor souls are out there farming the blades of crota for weeks on end and never getting the one thing they are farming for.
or am i just being paranoid and continue my endless grind?

1 ReplyJust run patrols on earth and kill the blades when they appear. I've got two of them without trying.

1 ReplySo after a week of grinding I finally got the husk of the pit and so everyone knows how I did this here it is. My regular characters have killed well over 700 blades with n o luck so I made a new character and still was not having any luck but once that toon hit lvl 10 the first blade I killed dropped the husk. There was no black wax idol active I had no eris bounties did not use a heavy or left the acolytes alone I just ran in killed em all and it dropped

I got both of mine on fist of crota on hard took about 2 hours maybe more to grind it, over 2 days tho

I had a similar issue (although I wasn't trying for as long) probably just rng but I suddenly got it when I started killing just the sword guy (leaving the 3 praying) with black wax, on hard using my heavy....(just combined all the suggestions in this thread and bam, got it) good luck everyone

The same thing is happening to me. I've only been at it for 3.5 hours, averaging a kill every 1 min 35 seconds. Occasionally (about every 10-20 attempts) I'll get a silken codex/black wax idol added to my inventory the moment I kill him, even when I'm 15 feet away and not moving. I've even had it where it I get a silken codex/black wax idol added to my inventory the moment I kill him, and then when I walk up to his body I get a second silken codex/black wax idol that he dropped as a pyramid thing.

Rocket yard, kill the sword bearer there, I dropped two husks in 2 days and I was only doing a normal patrol

It's not a glitch. That has happened to me an awful lot as well, but I eventually got it. Don't lose hope. I almost feel it's better to hunt them down in patrols, but that could be just personal preference.

1 ReplyI killed 300+ with my Warlock and never got a Husk. Then I created my new Titan and found 3 within 30 kills. The first one while leveling and the other 2 while doing the fist of Crota Bounty. My Titan also found Red Death in an engram and the new exotic Titan boots in the Nightfall...

Will I can officially say I have the worst rng in the game. Aside from my current progress I have now killed about 8 blades of crota on every single section of the earth and the moon. Rofl looks like no matter what I do it will forever be an endless grind

If you have all of your primary weapon inventory slots full then instead of showing up in your inventory it will show up as a "Lost Item" at the post office. So you might want to check at the post office before you continue grinding.

I have 3 of them, all dropped within 6 hours or so. :)

2 RepliesI got it from the first sword bearer i killed after i bought the dlc. I thought it just dropped automatically, its awful anyway. Can't speak for the upgraded version. I had no bounties from Eris and no Wax Idol active to clear that up.

Got mine off patrol on earth at skywatch they come every 5-10 min

also a lot of ppl say u have to have the blk wax idol active and 've on hard on fist if crota puts .bs it's just a luck drop killing any blade of crota on moon or earth so don't listen to the .bs it's just a luck drop n I wish uvthe best man when I finally face up is when I got it lol

1 ReplyStop trying to get it. Blame it all on the loot system and it can stick it up there ..... and start doing bounty's. Only advice i can give. After attempt 200 i got sick of it. Did the bounty and found mine. Couple of days later i was helping a friend and got my second because he was begging the loot gods he would be able too see how it was when you eguipted it (yeah....) and monday i got my third by just doing bounty's again. I used the same tactics on the nightfall and found 2 ghorns 2.0 in a row. So for some weird reason, blaming it and not trying to get something and/or say you dont want it, will mean you get it.

I feel your pain I tried for two weeks on the fist of crota go to earth in the rocket yard killed the blade of crota 3 times there and got it-.-
