For all of us who think we should be free to post what we want.

Hello all, This is to all the people getting shit from the stuck up crybabies complaining about us posting lfg threads... Yeah that would've been my attitude a few days ago, but here's the deal. You're wrong. There are places made specifically for destiny and recruitment. Look at it this way, you don't go to the post office to make a withdrawal from your bank account. Lastly, if you have no respect for the other forum members, please at least have respect for the ninjas who have to waste their time redirecting the threads. Edit : Unfortunately quoted from a ninja in response to the request to start issuing warnings about wrongful posts ...
I know that I don't feel comfortable doing that. Warnings and bans are for violations of the membership agreement, the ToS and CoC. Creating a topic with an "less than accurate or less than desirable tag" is not a violation of any of those. I can/will retag like a machine during my time on the forums (which is limited, but I am here when I can be), but I will not warn or ban someone for posting a topic that offends someone else's sense of order or tidiness.
I'm sorry, but this is just wrong. First he shouldn't have to waste his time doing this, second... If I park my car in a handicap spot, I still get a fine. UPDATE: This post has gotten a lot of feedback, even from ninjas. As it stands now, the wrongful postings are not banable, so we need to just keep educating and down voting. Muting is an option if you don't play destiny. Update: Still waiting on a response to see if reporting is helpful or not. Response received from Shacker:
It helps if the member is being disrespectful or vulgar, or generally violating the CoC.
Edit: FYI - posting in the wrong place does not violate the CoC Let's continue doing our best by doing what helps the ninjas.

 • Might as well add an observation and comment of my own since the topic is ongoing. I just took a peek at #recruitment. You may want to too. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Topics/0/1/0/Recruitment Go ahead, I'll wait. Back? Good. Did you notice what I noticed? I saw a forum/tag where there was an INCREDIBLE amount of activity, members, posts and people connecting. At 25 threads per page, there were FIVE pages where the last reply was <5 minutes old. That is a CRAP-TON of players connecting. So, I see a couple of "take aways" from that visit. 1) The members who are misposting into #gaming and #community are a small, VERY small minority. Many of whom don't know that there is a HUGE pool of potential players they could be getting their LFG topics in front of. 2) This gives me the idea that the better/more we educate misposts, and show/inform them that instead of "maybe getting a reply, maybe not" that they can REALLY benefit from posting in the most appropriate area. Sure, their posts are a disruption and/or distraction in the non-recruitment forum/tag, but the really sad thing is that they are unaware that they are missing out on precisely what they want/need. For those folks who are copypasta-ing in educational and helpful advice? Thank you. I give you my word that when I see those posts and if there are replies, I open up and look into those replies. If someone is rule-violating when being given good, correct and helpful advice in a polite way? They are being warned/banned as appropriate (when I see it occur). Anyway, just some additional information to add to the topic/discussion. TLDR: #Recruiting is getting TONS of action and the people who post there are getting what they are looking for... and getting it FAST. The misposters may be interested in knowing that.
