latest raid patch with random teleporting destroys VoG raiding

Random player teleportation while fighting Atheon directly deviates from its main purpose of working a team through the puzzle laden path of strategic, logical problem solving PVE raiding. Using stability as the reason and scape goat for this update is appalling as the update has made the raid extremely glitchy, and extra unstable with player booting from fireteams more frequent. Random teleports often only send in 2 people and everything lags a considerable amount to a point supression feilds get teleported and oracles or enemys won't die. This update has severely affected the ability to work to a teams strengths, prepare the right armor for the role assigned and equip the right loadouts properly. This manifests as frustration when impossible scenarios are set in motion and massive amounts of time and ammo are wasted by the endless wiping and restarting.     I think it's funny how people think they are good because they have a full clan of knowledgable players for a cheap random boss. You want to really git gud? Play Dark Souls, and solo the amazingly designed bosses regular and through NG++. You bafoons would beg for mercy. Lol "Atheon". Atheon is a piss-poor random cheap turd. I'd pay $20 to throw you in the swamp and watch you chumps (try) to rumble with Black Dragon Kalameet :)

    • Exactly - if a fireteam cannot complete the raid, it should be due to their own failure to cooperate, not the game's failure to function. In addition all the common glitches, some enemies were literally invincible, and a member of my fireteam was booted back to orbit 5 seconds prior to Atheon's death, denying him the final rewards and achievement. Also, you shouldn't require a team of 6 to complete the raid on easy - it's [u]easy[/u] mode for goodness'sake. A team of 3 or 4 should be able to [b]strategize[/b] their way through a game mode that originally emphasized the importance of [b]strategy[/b] and [b]teamwork[/b], not simple firepower. By all means, give the greatest rewards to those who face the toughest challenges, but don't punish the gaming audience that chooses to play strategically or casually. ...and for cryin' out loud, prioritize fixing your glitches over nerfing and "fixing" things that weren't broken.

    • The only reason VoG is hard is that it asks for a level of teamwork not seen in other console games. If less than 3 people get transported in, teammates need to enter the gate from the Atheon side. If you get transported with a detain shield around you, break the detain shield. If you see someone detained, help them. If the Praetorian heals, get in the air so he can't hit you. Warn the gate gunners that the cleanse will be late. Ground slam then R2 power melee. The gate transporting problems occur if more than one person goes through at a time or if you run through. The shield splash damage is really easy to solve. You don't need all 6 in the shield. Keep one or two people from the Atheon crew back by the triangle doorway. For those in the shield, don't bump the relic carrier. Teamwork. If you let a few curveballs beat you down, of course you'll struggle. It's all about attitude. That's how winning is done.

      • It's actually not that bad. Usually from what I noticed is that for first group that goes in, goes twice and then another set goes in. It's almost turn based. The weird part is that 1 or 2 people from the last set usually go back in with the new set. Have 3 designated relic users at the least.

        I would like to say that those who claim are "good" DID NOT beat the raid on hard in one shot with all these bugs you have tried several times & got lucky I've seen these bugs first hand & know bungie did not intend for it to be this way but will claim "it's how we intend the game should be played" just so heat won't be thrown their way somewhere somebody -blam!-ed up point blank period

          I wouldn't say it's hard because of the randomness. It's hard because everything in the raid is broken, and from the start has actually encouraged people to cheese it. If you do the raid the legit way you have to deal with: - 1- 6 people porting (anything other than 2-3 is an instant wipe). - Hobgoblins shooting you when their shield is up (usually a wipe). - Hobgoblins and Praetorians regenerating health after being killed (usually a wipe). - Oracles not registering as a kill (instant wipe) - Oracles marking guardians even though all are killed (instant wipe) - Portals not allowing all guardians to re-enter correctly requiring many to go through several times before actually porting back to VOG from Venus or Mars (not always a wipe, but usually it causes enough confusion for a few deaths). - Guardians dying inside of the relic shield (wipe depending on how many die). These are just the main issues with the mechanics of the encounter and have never been addressed in any of the so called "we're fixing it" style patches implemented into the game thus far. It's no surprise people want to push Atheon off the edge, you only have to usually deal with 1 port, if at all, and completely minimize changes for these said bugs. The risk VS reward now is just totally broken. The circle of people I raided with played daily maybe for a few hours or many. At launch when we hit level we were basically able to clear VOG the first time around legit, both on HM and Normal. Before I was running VOG HM legit in around an hour, now it takes 3, and I already have a maxed Hunter. So now I am just suppose to put more time in for the same gear for my alts because the game developers can't learn to take feedback seriously? Even if I do manage to get though all the bugs to get an Atheon kill the RNG system is so craptastic that I may just get a shader for the kill (which has happened already multiple times). Nothing like putting in 3 hours carrying people through HM to get a shader, man that is sweet. Zero incentive for your endgame raiders, even the Vex is neutered beyond being playable in PVE. Where is this so called patch for it you speak of? I keep seeing updates to Iron Banner and PVP while your PVP population dwindles. PVE is what is going to carry this game, not the PVP. I literally sat looking for a Control match for a half hour last night before giving up because so many people have quit. Do they even beta test the updates they are releasing? One team of Bungie devs running the raid would be all it takes for them to see the problems. Nope it's cool, they are running PVP with their level 25's giving away emblems, that's their priority. It's pretty obvious they don't plan on fixing this before the DLC, so that leaves me with pretty much nothing to do, with little to no incentive to push my alts past 29. I think most of the people I play with are in the same boat. My in game friends list was about 25% of what it usually has been over the last two days. You are driving away your player base by having absolutely zero support for endgame. The endgame is 1 broken raid, that is it, there is zero other endgame content. December will come and we will get 1 more raid, which will probably be broken as well. Way to hammer the nails into the coffin with your forehead devs...

          • I agree 100%. takes away strategy especially when 4 out of the 6 ppl in a fireteam have no idea how to use the relic even with multiple wipes some people just can't get the hang of it and makes others rage quit ruining the fun . Imo.... Just the experience that I have been thru and seen

            Yup. It's a sloppy mess that appears improperly play tested. Similar to the Randy BlTCH-TUrD passing aliens colonial marines development to Timegate Studios before shoveling that SHlT out to community without a SHlT being given. Terrible for people to go through all that work and not be able to finish because they gave the net code to a bunch of interns who couldn't find their azz with both hands or find their way out a wet paper bag. Ign has a vid of VOG issues, makes me wonder if Activision (Being of the COD MONOPOLY) went out of their way to sabotage Destiny for sledgehammer games to be able to push more sales on Advanced Warflopper.

            • THE UPDATE BUGS ruined the raiding.. NOT THE RANDOM TELE... We did the raid in just over an hour, because my group only ran into a few bugs. Complain about the BUGS as you should be doing. The random tele is what makes that part fun now.

              • Bump x 10 I spent about 3 hours yesterday trying to beat Atheon on hard. Out of the 30+ attempts over 80% of the encounters glitched causing a wipe. I used to be a fan boy but now I'm just a pissed off consumer who feels cheated out of their time and money. Fix this shit or more will leave.

              • We just took a group into raid last night with 2 LFG's and 2 people fresh to the raid. We had two wipes on Atheon and it was not even because of the random teleports. The strategey is at least 3-4 people need to know how to handle relic because they might be called upon to do so. This hardly destroys VoG raid. It does destroy being able to easily carry people who have no idea what they are doing through raid though.

                • Your missing the point. Teamwork is mainly driven by communication. If everyone in the team knows what to expect and how to act, things will work. So stop acting like a baby and learn to delegate

                • The random spawning is not that much of an issue when everyone learns how to use the relic. But I do agree that the update has caused a great deal amount of lag issues and sound glitches. Played a raid early this morning and we had severe lag when shooting enemies. Unloading entire clips at Praetorians only to realize they were already destroyed. It was soo bad we had to restart the level.
