7 RepliesRNG stands for random number generator. It's basically the chances of getting an item to drop. "Nerf" or nerfing is when an item is made weaker through an update. Assault rifles got nerfed because they were "overpowered" in PVP. (this is debatable)

Destiny has a random number generator for items so yeah pray to rngesus for those legendaries your not getting until bungie nerfs the trollish drop rate meaning theyll weaken an item make it less exploitable

Random Number Generator. Computer-generated lottery, basically. 'Nerfing' is any change that lowers the effectiveness of something (lowering a weapon's damage or a grenade's blast radius for example). The opposite is a buff: any improvement to something's effectiveness.
