Will Microsoft and Sony ever produce a game console together?
Hello fellow destiny players, from Sony and Microsoft. I have conducted a poll that I believe is on some of our minds. Let me know what you think and please keep it clean people.

Actually had a possibility of that happening at one point. The reason the Xbox exists is because Sony refused the offer Microsoft gave them to partner up and create a console. Basically Sony would have done all the hardware stuff and Microsoft would have made the OS and used their already established gaming resources to bring titles to the Playstation. The idea was that MS and Sony would work together to go up against Nintendo and Sega. However you can see how that panned out since Sony didn't want to work with an American company (due to the fact that they kind of resented the fact they couldn't out compete MS in the computer industry and had to use their OS). Also the Sega Dreamcast kinda died early on in the 6th gen.

The only way this would happen is with a merger/buy out of one or the other. This is very unlikely to happen.

We wouldnt want this to ever happen . This would make them one step closer to becoming a monopoly in console gaming . The competition is good for everyone , it keeps the prices of the consoles from being double of what they are now .

Most people don't seem to understand that Sony isn't just a gaming console maker. They have their hands in EVERYTHING, movies, music, house items, TV's, stereos, headphones, games, consoles, phones, etc, etc ,etc ,etc. Them partnering up with Microsoft wouldn't make ANY sense as a company. Meanwhile Microsoft has there hands in a few things that they are primary for, Computers, Phones, Consoles, etc. Them teaming up with sony wouldn't make any sense either. Plus the SCOPE at which both companies work at is extremely different. Ingeneral, no They will never team up to make a single console.

1 Replylisten. if they do that, there will be no freaking competition. if we have criticism, why would they have to listen? there's no one else competing. So yeah...this would be bad

3 RepliesMicrosoft are selling the xbox name and getting out of consoles in the next few years so i doubt it'll happen, however whoever buys it could be a friend to sony so at that point it could be possible.

I like Playstation and all but they should just try to be a developer/publisher but even then Uncharted ain't no Mario. Microsoft has more money to burn, that 100 million towards Kinect was nothing to them. Hopefully the Nextbox or a price cutted XB1 slim won't look like a vcr/hard drive.

2 RepliesNot sure if you know, but Nintendo and Sony was working together to create an add on to the N64, but the talks fell out and Sony went and made the Playstation...just think of how things light of been had those two giants worked together.

10 RepliesSony has posted a loss 6 out of the last 7 years adding up to about 100 billion dollars total... Microsoft made 8 billion last year. I don't see them hopping into bed together, nor do I see Sony staying the company it is for the next decade. I don't see anyone else jumping in the console game and being competitive until either MS or Sony is out of the way. Just my opinion

2 RepliesImagine a world where a super computer runs games, doing far more than any console or personal PC can possibly do (unless you be swinging like Bruce Wayne), and then stream the games to you. One day... as long as greedy money sponges don't break it.
