I don't blame them for abandoning the Wii U the system is failing. Even if the reason is because the game didn't sell well on that system it's still a smart move to avoid it. It might change, but for now the system is a disaster. It's selling badly and once again Nintendo ended up making another underpowered system which drives away future 3rd parties. Unless it's a popular game for now 3rd parties would be smart to avoid the system until it gets selling.

And what's worse is that if the companies 'avoid the system until it sells well', like you suggested they're doing, the system will sell even worse. Because of the lack of games on the system, no one will buy it.

I see what you're saying. In order to save this thing it needs games. By having 3rd parties avoiding it they are preventing that from happening so it's a catch 22. The thing though is that Nintendo really should be the ones that pull the system from the grave. They need to expand their library of IPs. Instead of circle jerking the same IP's they should advertize the unknown ones more. They also need to remember they have a fanbase that's not all children. They should have adult themed games that are fun mindless violence and serious darker games that are something like Tomb Raider 2013, Human Revelation and The Last of Us. Once they start showing signs of trying to bring this system back then 3rd parties might come to it if they can.

I would consider buying a Wii U if they took the steps you mentioned. They need more serious games FOR SURE. As much as I like Nintendo, they can't just keep jerking Mario and Pokemon (I think they should jerk Pokemon more than Mario, but that's just me.)

Exactly. It's snowballing and you can't stop it. The only people capable of stopping is Nintendo themselves with their first party games.

Honestly, I think Nintendo would dominate the games library if they just went 3rd party. Imagine playing SSBs on the Xbox One or PS4 with your friends in a party. Mind-blowing if you ask me.
