Someone Explain to Me The Male Obsession With Booty
I personally don't see it. All these booty threads go by and a lot of my guy friends will just state that this girl has a nice butt or that girl has a nice butt. But why? Whats the obsession? What do you do with a butt?

8 RepliesIts a psychological response to a trait inherent in evolution which causes sexual arousal at signs that a member of a potential mating coupling is sexually mature, physically capable of bearing young, and is decently healthy so offspring produced from a mating will be more likely to succeed/survive. It does not actually have to be applied to the actual potential of producing offspring, as is the case with homosexual attraction, just the baser psychological notion which attraction is built on. Its actually coded into our DNA, which manifests as neurological patterns in our brains dictating our behavior in reaction to external stimuli. Everything else put onto the notion is basically just window dressing on the core superveneing principle. Just secondary or ancillary justifications put onto that basal urge, to try to make sense of it.

The butt is a core primal reference for sexual availability, and is meant to develop a sense of desire in potential partners of an opposite gender. Your lack of attraction demonstrates either a low libido or a desire for an alternate partner. For example do you prefer short hair on your partners ?

Two reasons: 1.) A big booty is typically indicative of wide hips, a trait which we are biologically drawn to because wide hips are desirable for childbirth. 2.) A "nice butt" is also, usually, a muscular butt. Muscularity is a trait we are also biologically drawn to because it is indicative of a prime mate.
