How you grew up vs. Now

Here was my life from middle school to high school: -Wearing glasses is an automatic ticket to getting bullied. -Wearing braces is an automatic ticket to getting bullied. -Having friends who are gay would have the whole school turn against you. If you were also nice to everyone, you were considered gay and subject to getting bullied. -Reading books on your free time means that you were a nerd and subject to getting bullied. -Wearing a backpack with both straps on means that you're a nerd and subject to getting bullied. I did all the stuff back in middle school and high school. Along with my English being terrible in middle school, I was bullied up until my sophomore year in high school. Now in middle school and high school? I'll start from glasses. -Wearing glasses is a new fad and everyone wearing glasses now can be perceived as "cool" and "trendy". -Wearing braces? Nah, they're invisible now. -Having gay friends means you're very sociable and friendly to hang out with, especially if you're nice to everyone. -Reading books in your free time means you're an intellectual. -Wearing a backpack with one strap only (if your backpack has 2) means that you're a douche and not that many people like you. Wearing 2 straps is the new norm. I like how all the things I did back then are now considered "popular" and all the stuff I'm doing now means I'm an old fart at 21. What did you do when you grew up that was unpopular back then, but is popular now?
