CONFRIMED:You can share ALL games digitally on Xbox One

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/06/microsoft-defends-the-xbox-ones-licensing-used-game-policies/ One of the Microsoft executives just confirmed this http://penny-arcade.com/report/article/xbox-one-allows-you-to-share-games-with-ten-family-members-but-some-details
Since its announcement, there has been some confusion over the details of sharing your Xbox One game library with up to ten "family members." Mehdi couldn't give comprehensive details but he did clarify some things. For one, a family member doesn't have to be a "blood relative," he said, eliminating the extremely unlikely possibility that the Xbox One would include a built-in blood testing kit. For another, they don't have to live in the primary owner's house—I could name a friend that lives 3,000 miles away as one of my "family members" Mehdi said. You'll be able to link other Xbox Live accounts as having shared access to your library when you first set up a system, and will also be able to add them later on (though specific details of how you manage these relationships is still not being discussed). The only limitation, it seems, is that only one person can be playing the shared copy of a single game at any given time. All in all, this does sound like a pretty convenient feature that's more workable than simply passing discs around amongst friends who are actually in your area.

Give your family access to your entire games library anytime, anywhere: Xbox One will enable new forms of access for families. Up to ten members of your family can log in and play from your shared games library on any Xbox One. Just like today, a family member can play your copy of Forza Motorsport at a friend’s house. Only now, they will see not just Forza, but all of your shared games. You can always play your games, and any one of your family members can be playing from your shared library at a given time.
http://news.xbox.com/2013/06/license Now that sounds really good. Better than the PS4 as you can do it digitally.

  • so basically its the same thing like lending the disk because one can play at a time, with the only difference that sony gives you the extra option to RENT a game from a store and complete the campaign for 5 dollars and then return it,i dont see xbox defenders say anything about rented games, why??.and people say xbox is back in the game because of this, people trying to hold on anything ms throws at them to defend the indefensible, sorry but my common sense says otherwise.i guess is better than nothing at least

        • Yeah...no. I'm still moving to PS4, too many restrictions for a game console. Xbox one sounds rather stressful than just relaxing video game console. I'll pass.

With all the effort to stop used game sales they've put in, doesn't this hurt their profits even more? Unless I'm getting something wrong here, It sounds like every single game purchase will effectively prevent the purchase of 9 other copy's. There has got to be some down side to this system.

                • Not really. With PS4 the amount of people who can borrow my game is unlimited. So no, it isn't better on Xbox. Try again.

                        • I really don't have so much of a bone with all of the XBones new features that everyone is bitching about. Cloud-computing looks awesome, being able to share my games with 10 people and vice versa looks awesome, being able to loan my games to anyone on my friend's list (for a month minimum) and vice versa looks great. But I cannot abide 24-hour suicides. I am not always online. I travel often. This is the dealbreaker for me above all else.

If I give my friend in the UK and Australia the game, they can't play it at the same time. So, that just causes problems. Even more silly limitations

                            • It's been like this all along. But the PoS f4g fanboys couldn't see past their paranoia to realize that this has been Microsoft's stance the whole time. Yet another innovation built into the Xbox One that the PoS f4g can't/won't do.

But this will hurt developers! When you buy a game you are buying an experience! Now the 10 people on your friend lists will be able to play the games without having to buy the game! People who support this feature don't care about the developers or the publishers! I really don't understand why the anti-used game people are supporting this feature.

                                • Okay. Does some have an Xbox One url that indicates MS's new Policy on: 1) Can I sell an XBox One Game disk to a retailer without knowing whom it goes to (i.e..something like me transferring Digital Rights Ownership to MS before I can sell it)? 2) Will I be able to buy second hand Xbox One game disk and not have to pay MS to use it? 3) Will I still need the DVD disk inserted in my console to play the game - as it is with the Xbox 360 now? 4) Why exactly are they changing the game model now? If game play means you need the physical disk in your Xbox to play it - what's the problem? The free sharing with 10 friends doesn't sound all that good for Developers Revenues IMHO.

                                      • Wait a minute, then why is there a problem with used games if you can just digitally send them off anyways? They made a system that prevents the sell of used games, and then added a system that lets you give away used games to someone that may even be across the country. What Microsoft is doing is trying to cut out the middle man. This doesn't help game developers, it simply hurts GameStop

                                              • This is actually incredibly awesome and FAR superior to the PS4 way of sharing. If I lend a friend my, say, Fifa 14, then only they can play it. However, if I add them to my family and grant access to my library? I can just call them up and say "hey, want to play Fifa with me?" and they can jump on, gain access from my library, and we can both play at the same time. It's only the shared copy which can be accessed by one person at a time, the "home" copy on your own Xbox can be used simultaneously. That's badass.
