Seriously I know it's not a big deal but I walked in on my brother playing Red Dead Redemption and he was skipping all the cutscenes. I got really pissed at him and yelled and he just said he didn't care.
I know it doesn't concern me because it's him not playing and not me, but it still bothered me that he wasn't going to know much of the story because he was skipping all the cutscenes.
Does it bother anyone else?

Bump.

I skip real life by drinking heavily u mad bro?
-
I know what you mean, my friend was so confused by the end of MGS2 as he skipped everything I had to try and explain it to him....from GW to the S3 Program the lot
-
>skipping cutscenes >especially if they are affected by choices made in game All of my why. The only acceptable time to skip a cutscene imo is if its pulling a Ninja Gaiden and making you watch the same intro scene to a stage over and over every time you die or something similar.
-
8 RepliesMy friend played Mass Effect 3 skipping all the cutscenes and choices as fast as he could. I was like -_- Also, that looks like Iron Man.

Edited by MoonDawg: 5/28/2013 2:44:49 PMHell, I still get agitated if they're skipping cutscenes in their 20th playthrough... I think most cutscenes are masterfully done, so I treat them as a reward for my playthrough. I can't remember the last time I purposely skipped a Halo cutscene.
-
I hate that to, or talking over cut scene's on the 1st playthrough. During any 1st playthrough I never speak to anybody so I get the story.
-
I don't care what people do in regards to games. I personally play games for the story, so I'll set aside some time to watch the cutscenes.
-
Yes, but especially so when they get confused about the plot later on. That's just an unacceptable reaction.

2 RepliesFirst playtrhoughs are sacred. One has a duty to themselves, and to the game itself to optimize the experience to the max. This means appropriating the difficulty, ensuring there are as few distractions as possible, and thoroughly watching the cutscenes. It's all about immersion.
-
I really don't blame him. Some people just want to play the game.
-
I think it's stupid when people do that, but i don't hate them for it. What i hate is when someone completely ignores the campaign and just plays the multiplayer. They're missing a huge part of the game.
-
1 ReplyYou would actually hate someone because they skipped a video game cutscene? Doesn't that seem a little petty?
-
4 RepliesYou know what else annoys me? When you watch someone else play a shooter and they walk around with a half-empty magasine without thinking to reload.
-
That's what I used to do when I was younger. I don't do that anymore, now.
-
18 RepliesThey're usually the same folks who rush a game in order to say "I beat it in __ hours". I don't play games to "beat" them. For me, they are entertainment. One doesn't win a movie, or beat a book. Meh. Each to their own I guess.
-
The worst thing ever for me is watching someone play a puzzle game, such as Portal, that I already beat.
-
I hate that shit.
-
I agree.
-
People buy games for the story, and people buy games for the game Clearly you and your brother are those kinds of people, respectively Let him do what he wants, you'll have enjoyed the game far more than he has, and you have all rights to call him ignorant when he says a game is boring or wasn't fun
-
I've met people who just want to play without caring about the story. Those people have nothing in life now.
-
Absolutely. Pay attention to the stories of games. That's one of the most important parts of the game. For example, if Destiny's story doesn't hook me immediately I'm going to be very concerned for Bungie's future.
-
1 ReplyIt only bugs me if they skip and then get confused as to what is happening. It makes me want to punch them in the throat.
-
No matter how many times I've played a game I want to watch the cut scenes. It bugs the hell out of me when people vote to skip.
