What is the proper way to help them?
Give them things? Give them nothing? Spit on their faces and belittle them?
How do we reduce the number of poor people?
-
Make education, housing, and healthcare affordable so they can enter the workforce.
-
I've bought food for homeless people before. People can help in a myriad of ways.
-
Do something nice for them.
-
Treat them like normal people? Don't belittle them? Help them when necessary? And we really can't do anything. It's normally the government or their own decision. I wish I could do something, but I don't have all the money in the world either.

-
Offer jobs to the ones that are willing work and give them some financial help as they get back on their feet.
-
Give them a way to stop being poor? Isn't that the obvious answer? You don't hand them out things you give them a way to get back on their feet.
-
Support them. But don't hand feed them. But then again it depends on how they got to the state that they're in.
