Do you feel obligated to follow back someone when they follow you?
Do you feel obligated to follow back a user when they follow you? I personally only feel this when I know the user at hand pretty well

No, in fact, I'd rather have it so that people have to have permission to follow me first.

Even if I don't know the user all that well, I will follow them when they follow me; I suppose that I just feel like it would be rude not to.

Yes, everyone who has followed me so far, I have followed back. Although I have recognised all of my followers so far, it might be different if someone random decides to follow me.

1 ReplyNo. I'll go through my followers at some point and follow some people though I'm sure. But the notifications got annoying so I don't see who is following me.

I generally follow people back when the follow me, though it's usually because I know them or I want to know them.

If someone follows me then I generally will follow them back. It's less about courtesy and more about meeting people who I don't already know.
