almost TWO THOUSAND unstable cores to upgrade my gear? I'm done.
I went to just upgrade the power on a weapon from 200 to 303 and the game wanted 1,643 UBSTABLE CORES. Are you out of your flippin minds? Keeping my gear up to level with my drops should be CHEAP. This is so ridiculous.

On top of that there’s just too many armor sets. All this Paragon, grenadier, specialist, etc AND it’s on different types of armor-Tecsec, Axiom, discipline, etc. I would just keep the best stat of each one but you won’t get the bonus for having 4 matching. Then on top of that you throw in the tiers. They should change the bonus to two/four Paragon, grenadier etc instead of the names of the armor

Imo save your cores, instead of infusing find the best armor pieces then equip them instead of infusing to your current set. Do not fully upgrade them to save mats until they lower cost and that is even if it happens. I've spent a lot of time to get 55K cores from grinding and to watch it all just vanish on making titan a 400 is very bad, keep in mind I have yet to even finish my warlock, and my hunter was my first character to 400. Use the season pass armor as placeholders till you get T3-T5 replacements if you even get to the higher tiers. Do not make the same mistake I did, I learned the hard way and boy it sucks to watch 30k cores just go poof in a matter of seconds which took weeks of grinding to accumulate. If Bungie does happen to see this the cost is extremely high, and they should lower it. It used to be just 1 upgrade module to infuse now it's a week's worth of grind.

Just wait....soon you will have to run 20-30 portal activities just to get a SINGLE power increase.

It is very stupid to have a seasonal currency exclusively to make leveling up armor harder.

They depricate currencies we had a boatload of built up over the years and call it economy streamlining. Then they bring in new, temporary currencies we have to grind if we want the power. Back on the wheel hammy your 5 min break is up.

Wait till you get past 400 I have items needing 10-20 THOUSAND to upgrade.

It’s strange. If you infuse a tech sec into another tech sec it’s just 1000 glimmer. But, if you infuse a tech sec into trials gear it’s 2000 cores. I’m broke

2 RepliesFarm the gear with the same name. With the new system, it’s pretty much guaranteed especially it you are using new gear. It will cost you only glimmer and allow you to save the unstable cores in the process.

8 RepliesThat's not that much. People should be swimming in unstable cores. I've been upgrading my gear a ton and I've got well over 22,000 at this point. You just have to play the game.

If it helps, you get more cores the higher power and tier the gear is. I got a T3 bond on my warlock the other day but it was worse than the one i already have and it was around 280 power and when i dismantled it I got dman near 1000 cores for it. So 2000 cores really is nothing for some people and as you level up it will not matter as much if you dismantle the gear that is worse than what you have. Of course I'm sure the system could use some tuning.

It’s a pointless currency they can do away with. It’s probably just a smoke screen tactic anyway. They know people will dislike something (the grind probably), so they make it worse than it would have been. When they remove the currency then people will be happy again.

I had over 50,000 legendary shards before they got rid of them. I have over 9000 enhancement cores which honestly I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them. Now I know. In creeps the unstable cores to eventually replace the enhancement cores. Gone again, I'll bet. So the amount you needed doesn't surprise me but yeah it's ridiculous. God forbid you don't have to grind to get the supplies you need. What a joke.

OP: Bump! The constant drain of resources is a bit ridiculous, and it quickly evaporates any fun one might have…added to that, is the juggling confusion of obtaining the right mix of gear type / sets / stats so that one might progress rather than regress or remain static?! 🧐 This old tortoise finds it all a bit confusing…a ‘best build’ button would help! 👈 Am currently at GR6 / LL250-ish…got here without too much ‘thought’ - just by playing the game, and burning / infusing each better piece of gear regardless of stat type or class type (Bulwark / Specialist/ etc)…and now, I seem to be getting gear at 10 or 200?! 🧐 Did Sharpshooter, though am unlikely able to gild it…no problemo! ❌😁❌ Reached the final campaign mission on my W but am in no hurry to run it… ❌😁❌ Switched to my T…on the campaign trail now…meh! 🤔 End of Fun - perhaps?! 🫤 That is all. Ease Springs! 🙄

You get way more from breaking gear down than you would use to level up the gear you wish to keep.
