TL:DR Backup gamedata and images/clips for every individual account and start over from safemode. INITIALIZE! :) USB tends to be faster at backing up and restoring. Note, loading into courtyard can and may well still crash your game. Loading in through the annex seems to work fine. Long version: Not sure if every step is needed, the initialize from safemode sure is. I just went through these steps to make absolutely sure. 1. Make a backup of your gamedata (trophies are synced with PSN) If applicable, DO THIS FOR EVERY ACCOUNT in use on the ps4. Every account has it's own gamedata! Also, backup any screenshots or video's you'd like to keep, they;ll be gone I used a USB drive for this. Makes backing up / restoring a tad faster. 2. If backup is complete, power down and unplug for a few minutes to clear cache ~Insert tedious pause for drink here~ 3. Start ps4 in safe mode and select 'Initialize', the so called 'hard reset' This clears the console entirely, as well as, most importantly, the drive. 4. you'll get logged in as 'user1' when done, your storage should be completely empty Sign in to PSN and 'user1' turns in to your main account. 5. Restore licenses through 'account settings' in Settings, restore gamedata stored on USB to system, check trophies yadayada. Do this for every account before reinstalling destiny, just for good measure. Since Bungie deployed that serverside change to allow for packs to be selected for installation you should be good to go when reinstalling destiny from here, minus 'Required content' 1 through 3 In this case i got stuck since the option for individual packs was never given, the old data kept lingering and everything still showed as being 'installed, even after pausing and removing packs 1 - 3 from the download list at reinstall. Not sure how many times i reinstalled this game already Should have hit the hard reset sooner on my end lol. A little more in depth than just simple 'reinstall minus those packs, don't equip that armor' or even 'just upgrade to a ps5 already, that's just too simple, for so many reasons. Should Destiny outgrow the PS4? Definitely! But now is not that time .. yet! Sometimes it just takes workarounds with extra steps..
