Heresy shiny and adept weapons drop rate—what happened?
What in the world happened to the drop rate of the shiny and shiny adept seasonal weapons?
I used to be able to play the Nether on the regular (advanced) difficulty and have a good chance at these near the end of the activity, and now? Nothing. Nothing since the beginning of this month, and I’ve had over 20 completions, three of them being expert. What the literal hockey-stick (heck)?
I’ve had a similar experience in the Court of Blades. Tons of completions on both difficulties, with only regular and adapts dropping—NO SHINY’S WHATSOEVER.
I thought y’all “fixed” this? After talking to a bunch of my pals, they’ve realized they’re experiencing the same thing. So, this can’t be just bad RNG.
Should I keep farming the activities, or wait for y’all to fix it for real? Because I really don’t want to be disappointed again with another weekend of grinding only to walk away with near nothing or nothing at all. :(

The shiny drop rate is actual cheeks. Feels like an order of magnitude more rare to get an Adept shiny. That's just seeing the weapon btw.. hope it drops with useable perks 👍

I only run Expert Nethers and it’s a miracle if I see one, ONE, shiny… let alone an Adept shiny. Bungie is UNBELIEVABLY stingy with loot for literally no good reason.

9 RepliesWhen were you grinding since the update? I counted less than 10 Nether runs across 2 characters since the update. I think you might be confused, the new seasonal weapons only drop from seasonal activities. I can do a full Nether run solo in about 35-45 minutes. That means, if I give you an hr per run... maybe you spent 10 hrs over the last few weeks, and I know some of that was for the exotic per your history. Game history doesn't show CoB, but It's reasonable to think you didn't do much in there either. 😇👍💠

Bungie should make it so normal shinies only drop on normal difficulties, never on expert. The amount of times I got a normal shiny on expert is absurd.

I did like 15 expert nether runs in the past week and I only got like 4 adept weapons to drop, with the worse perks ever so I deleted them. Many runs it didn't even drop regular weapons with multiple perks. Today I did another expert run and I was excluded from looting the final chest, don't know why. A guy on my team who was AFK for the boss fights got his loot but I didn't. Wasted 30 mins and no final chest loot. This game is so bad now. The game is not worth playing anymore. The time you invest in the game is not valued by bungie since adept weapons are rare drops and you don't get one on every expert run. This game is not worth playing anymore. So I stopped playing and said -blam!- this game, I'm Done!

I get adepts in expert court/nether fairly often Shinies…I feel like I only get them in court…rarely I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve seen an adept shiny

The "fix" is lowering the drop rate even further to make people endlessly grind while hoping to get one shiny or adept Or they broke something again with their fix

1 ReplyThe drop rates were lowered. I remember the first week of Heresy getting a shiny basically every run, then they suddenly disappeared from the loot pool. It was then I realised that the weapons are mostly not worth grinding and stopped loading Nether/CoB. There's grinding, and there's banging your head against a wall.
