Suggestions for Passage of Persistence

I have no idea what kind of feedback this will bring or what Bungie may do to help others who found themselves in my similar situation, but here goes. First, I like the idea of the persistence card. The premise is essentially to try and help those - like me - that aren't necessarily the best at PVP to take part in the potential special loot that is Trials weapons. For this past weekend, just about everyone was likely gunning for an adept role of The Summoner. Heck, many were likely really happy to just get a regular role of The Summoner...if they were good "enough". There were, however, a few issues I encountered while attempting this (and I'd like to think I'm not alone). As I stated earlier, I'm not a PVP king like many others that play the game, which is why having better odds skewed in the favor of players like me is what keeps things interesting for us. The notion of having a win taken away, especially if you're not matched up with other players at your PVP skill level, really does hinder the chance of reaching the 7 wins within a "reasonable" amount of time. I can definitely state I put some hours into the game this weekend. But to luckily get two wins, only to have the second win taken away with a loss, and then you go on a binder of many losses after either because everyone else you're playing against is that much better OR potentially has the gun you're after and is shredding you to bits within seconds of a round is pretty demoralizing. From a rewards perspective, I saw a few messengers, a couple of grenade launchers, but mostly other engrams that weren't even Trials specific. But that's not even the worst of it. On two occasions, I actually made it to 7 wins (after many, many hours), and nothing came of it. I'll admit, the first was a misunderstanding on my part. Took a loss on the first attempt and didn't reset the card (actually didn't realize I needed to), so by the time I got to 7, I was pretty much S.O.L. The second time, I didn't make this mistake...got to my 7...only for nothing to happen. Loaded back into the game again, pulled out a victory only to notice it seemed to "replace" the 7th win. So technically I've "earned" the adept twice, but nothing to show for it. From a suggestion perspective, I agree with others that taking a loss and having it removing the last win should be removed from the process of the card. Again, if the goal is to get more people - especially novice PVP players - to play this version, taking away a hard-earned win defeats the purpose. Especially if the match-making is essentially putting you up against players with more skill (we won't even get into the match-making thing...I know that's been an ongoing conversation). Next, I also think reducing the number of wins needed (5 instead of 7...with better match-making) would be better. If the goal is to get more people to play, help them get more excited about it. At least is makes the journey a bit easier (again...with better match-making), and combined with the fact that you aren't losing a win in the process would entice the inexperienced group to keep trying without the bitter agony of defeat. Yeah, I know this was a long one, and I'm sure there are many that may disagree and others that will likely crap all over this, but I'd rather say something than nothing. P.S. - I'd like get to my Summoner Adept by the way...I mean, I technically did get 7 wins on my card...twice.
