Farming Dreaming City
…is returning far fewer engrams per hour today.
Have you nerfed the drop rate?
I love and respect you all and you will do as you please but the game is so much more engaging when we’re being rewarded well.
Usually the start of a season will be the golden time but then I think you start turning down drops, reducing rewards bit by bit.
If you held a referendum I’d vote “no” to luring us in then reducing rewards.

Nope, still the same.... In fact, it gets better over time... if you have the season pass, as you level... your rep gains go up. I'm still getting double drops... if you can find an instance solo, the amount of assets that spawn are still crazy.

1 ReplyI grabbed like 5 or 6 chests/resources on my way to chamber of starlight and got maybe 4 engrams. Too small a sample size to be sure, but it felt the same to me.

They laughed at you and then promptly forgot about you. You can't go easy on them. Not the management anyway. The everyday game devs are all probably pretty cool people. Show some teeth! Growl! You are right on Zlamm. Been farmin there on the daily even as f2p for Dreaming City Weapons which seem quite good > Waking Vigil especially. 1. Few days ago they shut off f2p spirit of Riven gains (it would just lead to an unfocused engram.. but still very nice chance at wish weapons) 2. At the same time as above they nerfed the banshee engrams chance slightly.. but its still remains a good source but seemingly only from chests at least for f2p. 3. Blind Well is straight up a great activity for weapons imo as long as you go 3rd tier lvl and add unstable energy and defeat the last boss in time.. not guaranteed unless that particular squad is movin about clearing the immune bobbers. 4. While at it achieve Petra's bounties for more chances at weapons. Now I'm thankful for a location that is worth going to.. an event to do.. which is actually kinda unique as it is almost dynamically matchmade (blind well).. quite a nice feat there Bungie. But just go the extra mile let the engrams fall like rain.. change your image Bungie. -
It wouldn't surprise me at all if they nerfed the drop rate, it can't be intended for chests and resource nodes to have a 15%+ drop rate for engrams with how quick and easy they are to farm. If they did/do nerf it I do hope its not a stealth change, just own up to it and tell us the intended drop chance.

I know one thing. The dreaming city certainly looks awesome these days. It seems like things get reduced and increased based on whatever trends the people that know about that stuff follow. But over time people that patrol at off times or strange times can add up. And if it's enough of them that adds up to people being outside the game. Especially with the way word of mouth works in destiny. So people definitely aren't looking for a Neomuna experience but patrolling should be satisfying basically everywhere all the time as much as possible. And the featured location could be more rewarding with weapon and armor farming and such.

I mostly got gunsmith engrams tbh. Once in a blue moon would stuff drop a seasonal.

Farm is still solid. I'm already a good half way from finishing the wish weapons that I'll let the weekly guarantee finish it off. Not like any of them are meta now that dungeon is out.

2 RepliesI've been running around in Dreaming City alot. It might just be that stroke of bad luck that always rears its ugly head at some point. I'm getting an engram every few chests; at least for now. I don't put it past them to nerf this at some point, hopefully not, but I think you're just having a dry spell. Those really suck in this game inparticular.
