Whilst it was interesting to see what the event card was last year when it was introduce and to see what you were getting for £10. It became very apparent that for the price of an entire season you were getting a couple of cosmetic items that didn't and still don't feel as though they add much value in what they have in the way to offer. With the store having a vast variety of cosmetics for you to purchase over that £10 price mark it then leads to question is the investment really worth the engagement with these events. This year with festival of the lost we yet again return to the haunted lost sectors. And whilst for 3 week event for the first two years this year it felt stale. With the addition of running a harder mode that rotates every hour and a half it adds a slight element of challenge, however there could be other avenues for Bungie to explore in an event card and season activity. One of the best and one of seasonal activities was the 30th anniversary bundle. Whilst this did have a step price tag of £30 it did feel as though that £30 was well spent on what you got. Dares, a dungeon gally and finally some cool cosmetics that could be unlocked with you owning that bundle... I'm looking at you poo ship. Whilst a £30 seasonal event price tag is extreamly expensive there could be something to cater to the £10 price tag. So lets imagine this. you pay £10 but what are you going to get. Well the seasonal event (like dares) would be free to everyone. You can farm it go HAM. But what else could you get for that £10 tag that feels like it would mean something to you. Now a full blown dungeon key is £20 so we can't have a full on dungeon HOWEVER, what about a Dungeon Lair. So rather than having a full blown 3 phase dungeon have a final boss that would grant you loot and a interim phase that offers loot. Whilst the dungeon lair would drop an exotic weapon and a couple of it's own weapons and armour as well as a catalyst. It could then remain in the game after the event. Or make a £10 PVP spooky map pack that could stay in the game with 4 new maps. The PVP community would loose their nuts and throw dollar. Or even have a Legacy Strike pack that brings back some D1 strikes or missions with weapons and or exotic tied to it. Yes you would be technically paying to unlock a specific weapons pool but to then have these maps, strikes and dungeon lair in the game would build throughout the year and could be added to year on year. One crazy idea would even be during festival of the lost to change the raid bosses around so that the VOG boss would be Crota, Crota would be Atheon, Oryx would be Calus and so on. something fun for a couple of weeks. Final crazy is if it's spooky season lets tap into those glitches and bring back 12 man raids, 6 man strikes and 6 man GM's but that could be an end of season Party mode that could be added to the game for end of season. I'd love to throw more money at this game and get stuff to do like strikes, dungeons or raids but it just feels as though these are all based around cosmetics.
