There was maintenance happening at the time you posted this. That is likely why you were unable to use the API. Keep yourself updated by following Bungie's official social media channels, reading their weekly news articles, and checking the [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049199271-Destiny-Server-and-Update-Status]Destiny Server and Update Status page[/url].
I'm using the app right now with no issues. If you're having issues, try checking for updates for the app, and your phone and clearing your phone's cache.

No, maintenance was finished at 8pm BST - notification via Bungie twitter. I posted this at 8.45pm BST - 45mins after the finish of maintenance. Its still not working on ANDROID. I still get the same message, as do other Android users. "Failed to download required Destiny 2 content. Please try again"
