match making sucks
since this new system being introduced for me atleast hasnt worked especially in the competitive modes, just today trying to go on a confidence passage i only had one teamate , so a 2v3, and he was a new light whilst i match against a 2 stack and high percentage players? fix it.

I don't believe there is any matchmaking. I've been in practically nothing but total stomps all day. I've gotten 2 match wins and played dozens. There are clearly players at my skill level in the lobby because I keep getting on a team with them. The other team though... There is no matchmaking.

9 RepliesEdited by bugattimurillo: 8/13/2023 11:48:11 PMYeah. Since they changed Trials by giving 2 chances of defeat, I dunno how, but the matchmaking is the worst I've seen. Either you have to be a supreme Trials player to carry 1 or 2 new light against 2 or 3 players that, bare minimum, is as good as you, or you have to be extremely lucky to be put in squads w/ 2 good players against the unlucky that goes w/ noobies, and your luck have to last 7 matches. It turned out to be mere a question of lucky. Personally, I have lost dozens of 5/6 victories cards because I'm not lucky to be put in fireteams without new light.

Skill based match making means you are grouped with people of your skill or lower, and if your KD or skill does not meet a certain level you are then fed to a team of much higher skilled players for their video game enjoyment.

Got 0-5 for 6 matches straight because of team matchmaking in trials and the population size this weekend.

Bungie sucks at matchmaking. I have wont 17 games and lost 40 in control. atleast 10 of those games the other team was 95% confidence of winning.

1 ReplyIf you're playing without a loss, Trials only considers Connection and Fireteam size when matchmaking. Trials doesn't use Lobby Balancing, so teams are random. Comp uses SBMM, FBMM, and Lobby Balancing. The "competitive" modes have totally different matchmaking to support their totally different purposes.

bungie has made it clear they do not care about pvp. you are wasting your time screaming into the void on this. i have the exact same issue this matchmaking sucks a$$ but bungie does what they like only solution treat this an expensive lesson and never buy anything from this studio again

This is a really bad time in the season to complain about matchmaking in comp. 2v3s tend to happen when the player population is low and you screwed up at some point.

Why evaluate guardians if competitive matches are heavily lopsided to favor one side? How is it a player can be killed by a shot that has to pass threw a solid rock wall? At this moment I'm looking at a bungie incomplete match screen, because at the end of the last match I needed to use the bathroom, I didn't want to continue playing, the next match started within 20 seconds, not the usual wait 5 minutes while we evaluate guardians as it would normally be if I didn't need to take a piss. This guy will not be buying future versions of the game. Go woke, go broke.
