Sunsetting to this day just makes my skin crawl
Vanilla d2 was what it was, but the storyline was good and set the stage for so much in d2 that a lot of players will miss. Same could be said for forsaken. New players never even get to know who the statue in the tower is for. And generally it’s one of the most f u to player base moments I’ve seen from a company. I mean you guys literally ripped $120 of paid content out of the game and didn’t give any compensation whatsoever.
Don’t think many ppl really ever grasped that bit.

Vestian Dynasty, one of my favorite pistols in both games, sunset in both games, it wasn't even a good pistol but I liked it.

That content was paid for prior to this business changing the license, that is 100% BS that they can change it to however they see fit to cover their -blam!- and if you don't agree to it you are assed out of the entire game. This was done for 2 reasons... 1, because they are using broken equipment from 2001 that is BS knowing it's 2023. 2, to resell the content players paid for already in tiny pieces pretending it's "new content". Oh, just thought I'd add this tiny bit as well. I like how this business lies to their fans, it shows how respectful they are 👍 Before they vaulted all that content which was a hell of a lot of content, they also claimed they would bring it back. Where are the expansions/content I paid for as their former self??? Personally, I think they should be obligated to pay everyone back for that content they removed, and not in their dumb silver either. They should have to pay all the money players spent on that content. I like people that lie, it shows their words can be "trusted".

They know since they haven't experienced this, they basically have a cash cow in waiting. They are COUNTING on this. It's why they "sunset" it to begin with. Dirty, yes. Effective? $$$$$ yes.

1.get a job ..that 120$ will feel like nothing after your 1st full time paycheck 2. It was done in order to add more stuff and the game won't break more than it already is 3.imActually glad year 1 is out of this game ....it almost killed the franchise

5 RepliesIm still pissed about it 😡😡😡😡😩 the ikilos shotgun took me like a year on mars to get the drop with trench barrel ( fixed roll) then boom nerf and sunset that goes for every gun i grinded hours on hours to get even days at times. The new players have no idea what the grind was like years ago.

Red War was definition of mid. Great concept, poor dialogue, good missions, AWFUL humor. Forsaken was 10/10 in every way.

50 RepliesThe legal trickery to classify software as a service and not a product you buy has made a mockery of anti-trust laws. This would be like buying a Porsche and after you get it serviced you get in and the passenger seat is missing and there's only 3 tires on the damn thing. Could they get away with that? Hell no. But somehow content you paid for in Destiny 2 can just go *poof* into the either with zero compensation and we have no recourse and they don't get a class-action lawsuit on their grubby asses? Wtf is happening to this country.

We have paid for it. Simple like that. And the content taken away is most likely less than what they added meanwhile again. We see it on game performance with loading screens meanwhile again mid mission. Like before. Having said that I was happy if we had at least the core stories from Red War to Forsaken. Allowing everyone a looong playthrough. I am pretty sure we will get that as a "legendary" D2 version post final shape. 50 bucks?

People are dumb. The content was SUNSET, because it is never coming back other than the tiniest fraction of it. You have to remember there was like 5 destinations, 12 Crucible maps, 2 Gambit maps and more taken aways. Bringing back Titan doesn't mean the majority wasn't removed. If you read exemployees reviews on a consistent basis, DCV was inevitable before it was annouced because the engine could take up to 8 hours just to load a map and move a pillar 2 metres. They use super old outdated tools and the Blam! engine from 2001 that was just renamed to Tiger and bloated to a point it couldn't load anything period. They had to remove stuff to even use it anymore. But again, that is nobodies fault but Bungie's. It's not like it was our decision for them to not use something like Unreal instead. Activision put it in the original contract they couldn't use outside engines like Unreal cause Activision didn't want anyone getting a cut of sales, but Bungie had a choice between continuing with this bullshit and doing D2 or make a D3 with an engine that would make a world of a difference. They chose the lazy route, we were the ones it impacted.

12 RepliesI like how there are people criticizing you for the difference between sunsetting and the DCV. Hey kids, the stuff in the DCV isn't coming back, so it's not "vaulted". Its gone. Its sunset. They used that language to soften the blow of what they did to you.

7 Replies$120??????? They keep deleting stuff annualy that we purchased. Thats hundreds of dollars. I am too lazy to calculate it cause i am not bothered but its WAY more than that. They are legally scamming their loyal customers every single year and the sheep are apparently fine with it. I guess people dont deserve better if they are willingly eating up this scam.
