Aerial dawnblade isn't working. Two aspects focusing on it is too much and the grenade requirement to do anything is too demanding.

Nearly every guide I've seen tells you to pick between heat rises and Icarus dash because they "don't matter". The remaining Aspect simply boosts your grenades but dawnblade does not have built in grenade ability recursion. There are simply too many prerequisites involving the use of your grenade: -You have to give up grenades to use a healing grenade -Heat rises which is the main way to have slightly better accuracy in the air requires your grenade -Phoenix dive requires your grenade to get some semblance of value from it The only way to get grenade energy through solar 3.0 is benevolence, which only gives you about a quarter of your energy back, and that's only when you choose to give a nearby ally a buff/heal (which in many cases require your grenade in the first place). I really think heat rises would have been better off using your melee to activate, slide melee into a phoenix uppercut that sends you into the sky would have been beautiful.

  • What’s Dawn Blade? It’s effectively been removed from the game.

  • The two aspects were in one subclass before so what’s the difference?
-You have to give up grenades to use a healing grenade
The Forerunner catalyst allows you to convert your next grenade (even healing grenades) into a fragmentation grenade. EDIT: It's mostly a gimmick, but it is an option if you use healing grenades and still want access to a damage ability besides your melee and super.

        • I made an aerial build yesterday, its not bad but also just sucks I’m forced into the play style to make solar 3.0 viable in pvp. From my experience, the first 1-2 minutes of the game I’m going around getting some good kills because no one expects me to be in the air and then after that I just cant go in the air because everyone is looking for me.

Benevolence should’ve never been a fragment. Does anyone actually use it? I’ve never bothered, personally. Touch of Flame should provide the OG Benevolent Dawn, which would proc from being Radiant or having Restoration applied- that way, grenade utility can make the class a little more versatile. Heat Rises + Icarus should’ve been one aspect and not split into two, leaving room for one aspect that could be replaced with a healing or damage, giving the class some form of identity

        • It actually amazing me that Bungie seems to want the space wizards to use their abilities LESS than the other classes. Like we have a whole -blam!- Grenade-improving aspect for that subclass that is beyond out of place when paired with either one of the other two aspects because those two were essentially made for eachother. Like why buff up grenades when I have to consume one to even even edit from half my aspect anyways? On a melee kill would’ve been WAY better for heat rises. Healing off of the consumption does nothing to help at all. It should be multi kills in air that is a part of heat rises, and Icarus should’ve had a different added functionality such as scorching nearby enemies on activation or something like that. It makes no sense that if you can’t realistically stay in the air long enough for multikills consistently, how tf are you supposed to take advantage of healing off of multikills in air? “USE HEAT RISES WITH THIS” is plastered all over it. It makes no sense to use touch of flame with heat rises give the Grenade consumption, and it makes no sense to use it with Icarus dash since heat rises won’t be active to consistently stay in air. It’s ridiculous how poorly this was though out lmao.

Yup, Its pretty bad. I've resorted to just using Radiant finger snap to boost Osteo Striga damage while applying scorch effects in addition to Necrotic Grip poison with the occasional ignition going off 😮‍💨

I'd recommend just building for elementals wells or Charged with light mods for Grenade spam if you don't want to use Sunbracers/solar flares as your main grenade. With a decent Melee/Explosive/Armamnets/Bountiful Well build you'll get your grenade back very quickly even if you have a piss poor discipline stat. But ya, I am upset that solar Warlock has 2 aspects that basically don't do diddly for you unless you want to live in the air, which is even further hilarious considering DayBreak is complete straightassbooty as a super.
