Bombardier's Burn Damage

Hello, Bombardier solar burn damage cannot kill, making it almost pointless. It literally will not kill someone; the dmg will reduce so that the always survive the burn.

  • Same goes for warlocks and titans bruh, burn damage no longer kills in this game. Now its all about trying to scorch someone until they reach 100 stacks to then blow up. I did a ton of testing with scorch and found out that warlocks for example even with the helmet that extends burn and its damage only managed to reach a scorch stack of 90 even with the fragments. Burn as a whole will only reduce another player’s health to 1hp but will not kill. I did even more testing and saw that my buddy dropped his health to 1hp, once his health started coming back, after a certain amount of time, the burn started to kick in on its own again but it would never ignite or kill through burn damage. Honestly this sucks, I was seriously hoping to make a viking funeral build but its actually impossible to ignite players or kill them through burns. It completely kills any build potential and makes burning damage obsolete unless your whole purpose in life is to stop the enemy from regenerating health for a bit. Oh and the only legit way to ignite someone in pvp is if they are inside a rift or inside a well of radiance or a bubble. Thats it, its impossible to ignite unless your class aspect or melee ability says otherwise.

  • I've been maining them for over a year. One of my favorite exotics. The bomb itself can kill anyone half health. The scorch is just a bonus. If someone lost 60 health let's say, they'll probably die from the scorch plus bomb. A melee and a bomb is always going to kill though, without scorch or with it.

      • That's just how scorch burn is designed period, from nades, from knife trick, and any other scorch sources. Try bombardiers with weighted knife, it ignites any scorched targets. Pretty fun exosions

        • It's to balance scorch. Imagine burning to death from most solar abilities. Geezus Christ that would be annoying

        • I think they're a blast to play with and are good against shotgun apes, making for easy cleanup afterwards.

          It's not that they're bad. They're just consistently the worst option available. "I go boom when I do the rolly thing" isn't nearly as appealing as spamming tripmine grenades or etc. I really wanted it to work for me, thought it would be /huge/ with classy recovery.... but it's just "meh". They tried to hard to balance it. They balanced it. so there for it isn't good for anything. Honestly the exotic wouldn't even need a reason to exist if they would let you drop a grenade while running.

          • Hmm. I remember testing them in a private match and they could kill players with the burn. Even one hand cannon bodyshot combined with the solar dodge grenade could kill a player. This was pre Witch Queen though.

            • That’s how scorch works. If it causes scorch, no matter how many stacks u hve scorch won’t kill unless it ignites. No glitch, that’s just how solar is now.

                • Dude, bombardiers are my exotic main for Hunter, yea they’re soo much fun, especially when baiting shotgunnerds, but yea they kind of suck. I don’t know if adding extra burn should be a thing or not, but I think what the best thing for it would be to make it harder for melees to stick to you while dodging when using bombs. Melees get me the most when using them, and it just feels like every class has synthoceps.
