Tommy's Matchbook + Solar 3.0
Hello all,
I have really been trying to find a nice rhythm with solar 3.0 and I believe that where I, and the community, are having trouble finding it is in the fact that there aren't many weapons that synergize with the changes. Not to mention that two of the three weapons are special weapons and take too much investment to interact with the new changes. That is a much larger topic that I don't personally feel qualified to discuss, but I do have an idea for the underutilized Tommy's Matchbook. So here we go:
- Tommy's Matchbook can apply scorched x1, per shot, but only when it is overheating and damaging the user. This would allow for an ignition to occur only with one reload, or the addition of an ability. This would keep it on par with the other scorch-capable primary, Skyburner's Oath. Also, having the solar fragment that increases scorch stacks applied to targets equipped, could raise this to scorch x2 per shot, yes that means an ignition in less that a magazine, but you have to invest in a fragment slot to achieve this, leaning into the build crafting idea.
Thank you to anyone who chose to read this far, and/or upvote this to maybe get some developer eyes on it.

10 RepliesReasonable idea. Problem is that it could become OP if Boots of the Assembler gets fixed. A healing rift from BotA can counteract the self-damaging mechanic....and the rift is extended a long as seekers from the rift are healing teammates. So combine the two and you wind up with this MASSIVELY overpowered primary weapon, that can stand in a rift and fire for practically as long as it likes (since primary ammo is infinite)....or until the player runs out of things to kill. IMO, its a good idea....but too much of a risk to become game-breaking when paired with Boots of the Assembler.

4 Repliesooooo boiii...you simply isnt know but this is freakin with solar 3.o...why?You install a warlock - sol invictus aspect(Touch of Flame)(yea yea this new brand @TM warlock aspect)....you install a healing nade and install a Ember of Empyrean and takes a this...drifter-styler(Drifter you know..is pure drifter xDD) @TM gun you have a devour 2.5 for nothing)))And yea Matchbook with this dont kill you at all im able to say...you heals at all with this xDD

Just a FYI, would need more then a full mag to apply a ignition itself as Overheat damage doesn’t occur until 16 rounds into the mag. Tommy’s has a great build with Actium War rig and solar. Shoulder charge something, proc radiant and restoration ,then with the newest fragment and solar font of might you deal 156% damage, and the self damage is negated. Very strong in any thing minus GM’s
