I main solar titan in pvp and the bottom tree solar titan I was using a few hours ago was a million times better than this supposed “upgrade”
You literally lose health regen on solar ability kills, bonus weapon damage, Sunspot regen nerf, regular kills no longer generate sunspots, melting point weaken is also gone, Its pretty annoying that you cant just have a regular powered melee and you’re stuck with shoulder charge or that trash hammer
And we get a sub par version in return

Yeah, the Titan is terrible now. I don't want a hammer toss. I want to run up, melee, and have the enemy explode in flames, which I then bask in as others come up and melt. If I wanted to toss a little thingie, I'd be a hunter.

The whole Solar 3.0 Haunted update is -blam!- From missing NPC’s, missing gear, broken Strikes/Gambit, black screens, crashes, etc Terrible 3.0 Solar on Warlock (ruined Well of Radiance) & parts of Solar Titan It’s some of Bungie’s worst work yet & that’s not even getting into the reskin/rehash ‘season content’

4 RepliesEdited by A485258: 5/26/2022 1:43:53 AMHunter: New Melee/Lightweight Knife. New class ability/Acrobat dodge. Warlock: New melee/finger snap. Reworked class ability/Dive. Titan: melee/nothing new. Class Ability/nothing new. There was a Bungie VIDOC in the past where staff members and their mains were listed. I wish someone can find it. The lead game designer was a Warlock and a lead manager was a hunter. There was no Titan in any management role. Forget for a moment about whether the changes to the classes were good or bad. There’s a glaring difference as to where cookies were and weren’t handed out.

I want you to take a second and see this thread, read the room and see how insane some of you sound. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/261144466/0/0

Personally I have to disagree, it is extremely powerful, especially with the right mods we can get our Melee ability back instantly or close too it, invictus let's us tank insane amounts of damage, and the sunspot regen and damage we get is absolutely god tier. I can wipe out a whole row of enemies even abominations with the new slide ability. Warlocks got it bad with solar, not too sure about hunters, but I can say that Solar 3.0 for titans is a blast.

6 RepliesEdited by Prometheus: 5/26/2022 10:31:30 PMDisagree.
lose health regen on solar ability kills
True, but now you heal when pick up hammer after hit. You can stay near a target, throw a hammer and instantly grab healing yourself each time.
bonus weapon damage
Not true. Ember of Torches fragment gives you 10 second weapon buff on hammer hit. And hammer is infinite.
Sunspot regen nerf
Not sure here, but feels OK.
regular kills no longer generate sunspots
And before 3.0 they also did not generate, you needed to be in a sunspot. Right now killing any scorched target creates sunspot. UPD: not sure if sunspots could be generated by regular kills previously at all, perk descriptions from bottom tree did not explicitly say this (wiki). Basically, 3.0 gives an ability to wield middle and bottom branches at once. I literally just grabbed CP to Shattered Throne boss, loaded in with Solar 3.0 Titan and finished it solo pretty easily.

4 Replies2 thing titan lost are the solar ability kill regeneration health (yea it would be busted in solar 3.0) and be able to make sunspot with weapon when having its buff Other than that titan got a overall buff with solar Want to complain ...go play warlock
-
3 RepliesEverything you just said is a lie. I've been using melting point, sunspot Regen, roaring flames, and exploding hammers simultaneously all day today and yesterday.

Honestly makes sense why they didn’t release that trailer earlier people would have hyped up things that were never gonna happen like the Scythe and now this

Bad take LOL, stay mad because you hate balance changes

4 Replies“I can’t build craft”. That’s kinda all I hear. All the damage buffs and healing are there in new ways - so it’s gonna take some getting used to. I’ve had a near constant flow of grenades and melees. I’ve enjoyed played all the aspects and decided to forego the new melee animation cause bonk hammers can be played with sunspots now. Radiant is an easy proc. Get font of might and some high energy fire along with radiant and stand in a sunspot. What’s so hard about this? We’ve been playing for years and should be able to take it to the next step. I’m glad they’ve made titan more craftable.

2 RepliesI'm sorry what? I jumped on my titan, didn't even make a mod build to compliment solar 3.0 yet and was still an absolute machine pumping out fire and explosions idk what y'all doing wrong lol
-
You must not be building right you’re a literal tank now that can’t die.
-
If it wasn't for the major ability regen nerf and sunspot nerfs Titans would be an absolute blast to use in Solar 3.0. I found a build that is pretty good but it is nothing compared to the Void 3.0 build I have for said Titan. I understand that the PVP crowd cried about it and it needed changed which brings me back to the original complaint for years now.... SEPERATE THE MOTHER LOVING SAND BOXES.... I know it will never happen but I hate that the power fantasy they pitch gets their balls clipped due to that toxic sludge known as the crucible.

Warlocks have more reason to be upset about solar 3.0
-
1 ReplyWell both reworks , Void and Solar are great , mostly, I now can spam my solar abilities even more with Heart of Innermost Light, like with most titan builds it turns the Titan from good in to an ability spamming war machine.
-
I personally love new hammer titans. If you think titan is disappointing, just wait till you try warlock. They gutted almost all of bottom tree dawnblade as well as nerfing multiple other things. Literally worse than it was before.
-
Titan main here. I absolutely love solar 3.0 for pve.
-
10 RepliesHeart of inmost light chest and throwing hammers. Basically infinite recharge of grenades. Spam away to your hearts content. It’s a slow death for bosses but you will never have a situation where your in danger of anything else. Let the flames lick and tickle them to death. Even putting on the heal grenades makes you the ultimate annoyance healer. A new grenade every 5-9 seconds, although I kept hucking them at enemies forgetting they heal.

I'm sure there are other people here crunching numbers and spending way more time making the best combinations and will show it. We need to be patient. Many players here probably spend about 5 minutes total using the same things that they usually use and don't understand that they're going to have to change up a few things. Give it a couple of weeks and I'm sure people are going to figure out an OP build
-
Why is every powered melee for the Titan a shoulder charge or a projectile? Can we get some normal ones like Defensive strike or Mortar Blast plz?
-
14 RepliesSolar 3.0 isn’t a buff ffs people it’s a re-work you go into it thinking it’s going to be some broken op or new subclass you’re going to be disappointed
-
Meh I’m having fun with it combating roaring flames with sunspots it’s hella fun
-
Agreed, even with a decent build the overall identity of being a Sunbreaker just isn’t there. The aspects make more sense being fragments, the sunspot hammer should’ve been its own equip-able node, and they need to change the sol inivictus aspect to be something that isn’t similar to Hallowfire heart. Plus why can’t titans or warlocks have an aspect that gives 3 fragment slots? Hunters got one, why can’t we?
-
4 RepliesHard hard fat disagree, I have a silly silly silly amount of self healing. Like honestly if you arent enjoying the rework you probably just suck at build crafting which is no surprise.
-
1 ReplyTried hammer, threw them mfs at the taniks boss and I though he laughed at me cuz how weak that -blam!- was! Put burning maul on and still took me about 4 twisting hits to defect a weak -blam!- scorn vandal. They cold blooded for not buffing supers at all.
