The gathering of friends

Ah Sol. she lives rent free in my soul.
So, she returns from her week-long trip and I decide we must talk. buuuuuut, before that, we must discuss my new friends. One tough part about working full time on the night shift is that it sucks the time out of your social life and therefor you must make friends at work. When I switched stores, I effectively lost all of my friends. I did, after a time, make new friends. One thing that is important to me is investing in teenagers. I know that 16-24 can be a very tough time. everything is changing, you have to confront adulthood very quickly, and the ever present issue of college looms over your head. It can be a very unstable time. Something I feel called to do is to invest in, and mentor teens. It's very rare that older people (it seems laughable that they think I'm that much older, but my position and the space of five or so years matters to them) truly believe in kids and teenagers. the business environment enables me to do that in a unique way. All that being said, I cherish these kids. They matter more to me than most things. So when I got on the scene I found a few to pour into. we have the lovely L, the entertaining J, the spirited D, the goofy A, and the lovable P. There are more than those, but reflecting on those times. L, J, and A will stay with my heart for years. It took some time for me to get them to open up, but once they did, it truly blessed my soul. This was one major component of getting past the move and the break up. Much like Sol, I wish I could explain better, but I can't.
