Is xenophage a weapon of sorrow?
I’m thinking this as without the hive’s experiment with Omar agah, it couldn’t of existed, and the gun itself was Omar’s machine gun, making it a combination of the hive’s experiments and humanity‘s mastery of war, so, is it a weapon of sorrow?

4 RepliesIt is a weapon powered by Omar in a bug form. The only weapons of sorrow are the OG thorn we see at the lumina quest and necrochasm from the raid. They had to be human weapons that were corrupted by the hive. I'm not to sure on bad juju. Toland intended it to be a weapon of sorrow powered by the sword logic. I'm also not sure on the crotas ends weapons as they belonged to guardians but were corrupted. Lumina is a weapon of hope. We redeemed the original thorn and freed it of hive corruption. Just like rezyl azzir would've wanted it, he used the handcannon known as rose. Then the hive corrupted it and turned it into thorn. And he became dredgen yor as a result. Similar to how anakin skywalker became darth vader from star wars. Hawkmoon is a weapon I'm not sure on. It was a gift from the traveler, just as ruinous effigy was a gift from the pyramid. So I'm not sure if it falls into a weapon of hope.

No, weapons of sorrow feed on light and their victims. Xenophage is more on par with darci or mida, since their all alive but dont feed on their targets.

It’s latterly in the weapon lore/quest. They explain exactly how and why the weapon was created. Bungies lack of finishing story threads really fuels the community’s head lore. Maybe that’s why the fan fic problem gets out of hand?

Slug machine gun straight up powered by a "dead" and very angry guardian turned into a space bug, i think its different. Weapons of sorrow were weapons that got cursed, and augmented by the hive in some shape or form.

Its a normal weapon...powered by omar. Weapons of sorrow are human weapons corrupted by the hive.

Xenophage is not a weapon of sorrow, thorn and necrochasm are the prime examples of a weapon of sorrow. Weapons of humanity mutated with hive corruption with the intent to blot out hope and the light, that is the criteria a weapon has to meet to be a WoS. So possibly touch of malice, but none of the kings fall raid legendaries are weapons of sorrow. The Crotas end weapons are also believed to be weapons of sorrow.

1 ReplyI thought it was just a gun that Omar’s new bug form was put into. I don’t think it has any Darkness or paracausal abilities beyond being a conduit for Omar’s revenge.
