Halo 2 is definitely not way more fun. Its unfair and far more linear than CE. Also, outside of maybe the Library, the levels in CE really are not that repetitive considering each encounter is set up different. Assualt on the Control room and Two Betrayals use many of the same areas but are completely different. You are going up against different set ups of enemies and you have to approach each one a little bit differently.
