I don't think a "successful future" is the right term. "A future version of you that would makes present you happy" would be better. I am always a firm believer in working hard to achieve what makes you happy and that the only person responsible for achieving that is you. No matter who you are or what you are, YOU and only YOU can be responsible for achiving great things. If you blame everyone else for your situation in life then you are just in denial over your life choices.
