Imo people need to accept that a guy with 10+ years of experience in game development probably has a better understanding of what’s good/bad for the game than a bunch of forum randos. Who seriously cares about input on their job from people who have nothing to do with their job? You don’t see basketball players calling into sports bars to ask what drunk fathers think, they just ask what their coach thinks.

Just because you work for a company for 10 years doesn't necessarily mean you are the right person for the job. I can tell you right now that Gavin, Scott, or even Barrett that actually has experience would have been the right choice to be a director. Not a person that was (only hired because he wrote an article and played WoW.)

  • Sure let’s just ignore all the things he did in D1 but give everyone else credit. He was the raid lead for VoG. The game director for taken king. He gets the same credit for taken king as Barrett does for Forsaken. Otherwise you’re just being hypocritical.

He did not design VoG. Something else you also don't know but I can't find the link to it right now... Luke Smith was pulled from the Ttk in the beginning of it to go work on D2. Also, the concept art was created for Ttk before Luke help with it, he did not design that either. Then you have to consider all the work Staten did that also says otherwise. Sorry to burst your bubble, but you literally have no idea what you are even talking about so stop spreading (false info.)

Links broken lmao. Attempt to discredit him all you want, if he was a detriment to the game, he wouldn’t be the lead. It’s that simple. The reality is the game has been massively successful and he clearly has some hand in that success. You can hate the changes he makes all you want, but the fact is those changes are keeping player numbers up and money flowing into the company. Sorry to burst your bubble but I don’t think you have any idea what you’re talking about.

  • Literally the only evidence you provided was a broken link and “what you read” like I’m gonna take you at your word. Then riddle me this, why is he still leading the game if he’s are such a detriment? You can’t answer this because you can’t comprehend the answer: He’s simply not.

  • I mean, hes there because he brings the money. If he brings money, it means that people give them money. If they give them money, that means that they like what he is doing. So, by logic. Hes there because people like him

You’re obviously tone deaf and have never played this game before. Or you’re so insecure that your position is bad you don’t even realize why you’re wrong, complacency.

You are confusing technical knowledge with practical application or community based knowledge. An expert chef doesn’t necessarily know how to build a table, just put food on it.

  • he knows nothing, hence why his ideas are dispised by the playerbase. also 10+ years of developing games =/= you knowing whats best for them, Players know whats best for the game because we are the ones who actually play it on a daily basis. if you were right about your assertion then DICE would never have made Star wars Battlefront 1 and Battlefield V and look at how garbage those games turned out, look at the COD games and how awful and reskinned they are? and those studios have been making games for atleast 2 decades now.

  • The decisions are based on making more money and numbers online not to make the game better. Great content makes the game better like deep stone crypt. Creating false grind and sun setting is not.

  • DSC is not great. Its marginally harder than patrol missions and fully of bugs. The word great describes raids like kings fall and wrath of the machine.

  • Having experience doesn't mean you will make right decisions all the time. - Warren Buffet If you want a recent real example, read about Sir Philip Green (owner of Arcadia Group in UK). He is a 'Sir' so extremely honoured experienced person. If you think all his experience was used in making right decisions then you are wrong. Why do I reference this guy in the response? He has some qualities similar to LS so you will understand once you read about him. Listing those qualities may not be appropriate for this forum.

  • Big number? We had 900k average last season, we are currently averaging 1.4 million. Looks to me like more people are playing, not quitting. 400 people is what percentage of the daily population again? Oh .028% of the daily population. Not to mention this is the most toxic of the Destiny forum communities by a country mile. So their bias tends to lean against any decision bungie makes. Come back when you get 14,000 people to upvote with you, that will at least be 1% of the playerbase.

  • How does one play something when theres no content to play because Luke Smith deleted it all? If by "play" you mean look at the eververse store then yes, theres plenty of content in the microtransaction area.

  • 'Most played?' Before Beyond Light launched the LFG on Xbox had around 1000 player posts, and that's still pretty damn small. Now it's lucky if it gets above 500 on a weekend.

  • I didn’t realize number of Xbox LFG posts was a valid comparison to steams “most played games” list. Also there’s like 500 now, at 3 am on a Sunday. Come back Tuesday at reset and let me know if any posts remain.

  • Did I say it was? And is steam's most played list really an accurate metric to base your claims on?
