1 ReplyEdited by Sorez: 1/27/2021 5:48:35 PMJust would like to update that the bug is STILL in the game, I just went on my other characters for the first time in the season and was greeted by the stuttering cutscene immediately. Bungie I really hope you're still looking into this because us Windows 7 users are horribly in pain with pre-rendered cutscenes :(

88 RepliesHi there, Thanks for your report. Could you grab your DxDiag for us to take a look? • Press (Windows Key + R) to bring up the Run dialog box, enter this command “dxdiag” without quotation marks. • Click on “Save all information”. • Copy the text and use a text dump website (i.e. PasteBin.com) to paste the information. Please don't use Google Drive. • Create a link and post it here.

9 RepliesHey guys, I found a solution that worked for me. I hope it works for you guys too. I'm on Windows 7 as well. If you're using Nvidia, go to the control panel. From there go to Manage 3D settings On the tabs, go to Program Settings, and wait for the list to load. From there select Destiny 2 on the drop down list In the features list, select the SHADER CACHE and turn it off. Then save the settings and restart your computer. This seemed to work for me, as I got the new Osiris cutscene at the standard 30FPS. Hope it helps you guys!

I had the same problem ='/

1 ReplyBumping with the same issue, makes the new content unplayable and errors out eventually during long cutscenes. @BNGHelp7 Please prioritize, this one's critical!

Hi! Any news from the dev or something? Because Season of the hunt start today, and again cinematic still bug, drop fps etc... Can we have some information?

Hello Same probleme here, Windows 7, never had any technical issues with the game since launch, but since beyond the light, cutscenes are averaging 3 FPS And it concerns ALL cutscenes, i tried playing the forsaken campaign and the same thing happens (when forsaken went out i never had any issues)
-
Same problem - Win7, x64 nvidia 1660 - all was great till the Beyond Light. Now even OLD CGI shows at 1 fps (tried to run old campaign, forsaken - but on video with Barons and cards got same thing - 1 fps and error) So it;s not just NEW videos. it's ALL videos in game now.

4 RepliesEdited by Nuprinboy: 11/12/2020 4:21:58 PMIt seems to be more a DirectX issue than a Win 7 issue. It's highly likely that the cutscenes are using something that requires DirectX 12 Ultimate. Which is not on Win7 or Win8.1 but was free with Win10 May 2020 updates. All of the pastebins that I looked at showed DirectX 11. Microsoft initially had no intention of adding DirectX 12 to Win 7 to push ppl to upgrade to Win 10. But after some time, they provided this link: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/porting-directx-12-games-to-windows-7/ Unfortunately, the latest binaries from that page are from Nov 2019 (which might still miss changes in DirectX 12 Ultimate). Perhaps that's why some Win 10 users are also seeing the cutscene stutter--because they don't have the May 2020 update. It would be good to see their dxdiag if they would post it here. What surprises me is that Bungie's test or beta team didn't encounter this during their testing of Beyond Light. They don't have one machine or beta tester that has Win 7 or Win 8.1 or a pre Win10 May 2020 OS? At the very least, they should remove Win 7 and Win 8.1 from the Recommended System Requirements if they're not going to test on those platforms. I don't know how easy this will be to fix...

2 RepliesSkip cut scenes. put esc when cut scenes slow down and play.

Update, I got an error code: Chive when trying to boot up the game today. It resolved when I rebooted my computer (file validation turned out a-okay), but it's still concerning to have this happen while the cutscene issue is still occurring.

Same problem today!! windows 10 , steam, sudden framedrop. Kicked back to orbit for “time skew maxed” error code. First time this happened!

Hi ! I here to give you an update. I have one of my charactere that not finish the Renegada campaign, so i decide to finished this campaign and i have the same problem with the cut scene / cinematic, it seems that teh problem is everywhere in the game not just in Beyond the light
-
Obligatory "I'm having this problem too". Something possibly worth noting is that regardless of the graphics settings, resolution and/or framerate caps I've applied to the game, the pre-rendered cutscenes still run at only 1-2 fps. Hope that helps in some meaningful way.
