Mnemonic Engrams contain cosmetics only. If it was an exotic, it could have been a Ghost Shell, Ship, Sparrow, or Ornament. Make sure to check these inventory slots as well as the Modifications section.

In that case, it must have been an Ornament for one of the exotic snipers. Ornaments are like different skins for weapons and armor. Look in the Modifications section of your inventory—it'll be there to unlock if you haven't unlocked it already. If you did already unlock it, inspect D.A.R.C.I., Izanagi's Burden, and Borealis and tab down to the Appearance menu to see which Ornament you received.
