The Foolishness of Iron Trashcanner
1. You get placed in a game already in progress where the team is getting trashed.
2. Unless your going all out every game leading the team you have no chance of winning and even in those cases you most likely will still lose.
3. Games are never even either a blowout or total domination.
4. Your team is down 2 or more players and by time the game refills thoses spots you’re already getting slammed.
5. Teammates are utterly clueless. No one goes for flags just goes for kills and can barely get those so now it’s double trouble.
6. Instead the typical 3 blue piece of blue gear you get about 6.
7. Same old rewards nothing new added. Outside of forward path the other weapons are meh.
Feel free to add more but Bungie this isn’t enjoyment at all. I wish you guys would just explain yourselves instead of looking out of touch and incompetent.

See two teams of three in the roster while flying in, thinking they’ll be split up but instead matchmaking put both teams on the same side 😂

I hear your complaints but I have to say; image this. You load into a game on a team that’s getting trashed. You DO throw down hard and within minutes are the top of the leaderboard. Gradually your efforts begin to close the gap. In the last two minutes while in pursuit of a we ran you carry your team to an upset. Then while everyone spending 25 seconds loading out you look down from the top of the lobby at all the peasants and think “you all owe me one”. You then get to head to orbit knowing yet another 5 blueberries were saved.

2 Replies(5.) is the key to the the issue. So many players are strategically clueless in IB and Control matches. The losing team usually has 3 players with 0 or 1 Capture in the match And Bungie created the Hunt mechanic in IB to punish teams who do not play the objective by increasing the advantage of capping zones, and they still do not get it! It is not about only slaying, or only capping. It is about having the awareness of when you need to re-capture a zone as a team, and when you need to urgently stop the opposing team getting control. All the information is there in the match to let you know but so many ignore it

8. Your get paired up with shit teammates that strafe back and forth in front of you while your trying to shoot the other team you end up dying and the assholes that got you killed lives.

They need to increase the token drop rate and the aftermatch drop rate. It’s honestly infuriating how little shit you get for slogging through IB (coming from someone with 5300 match’s) and the amount of time it takes to get a single package with tokens is ridiculous, 4 wins, if you don’t get 4 wins, congrats you now have to play a minimum of 6 matches, if you getting farmed up to eight, that’s like 2 hours with no guaranteed rewards.

Don’t worry dude next season there will be a solo queue and stacked teams will be forced to fight each other all the time. Which is awesome for both sides, I mean, when I run with a team I want to face other teams. When I run solo I want to fight as many other solos as possible.

Oh, I can add to that. I just made a thread about it. I'm only playing Banner for the multiplier for kills in the Thorn quest. The last game I had, I actually performed very well. Got several kills and even captured a few zones. What did I get? NOTHING! I finished top 2 overall in KDA and was on the winning team and I got nothing for my efforts. No rewards at the end of the match and no progress on Thorn. I didn't come into the match late, I started it with everybody else. The game just randomly decided that I would get NOTHING when doing well and, apparently, I'm only supposed to get minor progress/rewards when I'm doing terribly. Such a f******* incentive to play this heap of garbage, isn't it?!

I play for the pinnacle stuff and the occasional nice drop. I don’t care if I win or lose. I try, but I’m not very good. That just might be a typical iron banner match.

I honestly do not solo que IB. It is a fuxking nightmare. Game after game of join in progress matches. My clan are all on a break from D2 for what seems rest of season so i go to forums to lfg to find a team. Some of these requirements are a joke specially coming from bad players.

2 RepliesThere a few things that really need to happen to fix Iron Banner. The main one is better rewards, win or lose rewards need to be there to keep players in the match esp if being stomped. Better matchmaking saw a match where there were 2 stacks against a full team of solos, another where there were 5 Diamond elo and 1 latinum against another team of almost completely bronze and this was all solos (unless they had a fireteam made from solos but I did see some in other matches alone) Finally once the two above are addressed then punish repeat quitters with lockouts, loot drop debuffs and a 0kill 10 death kd penalty per match quit.

2 of those points are down to ragequitters, and thats a player attitude problem, not much any Dev in existence can do to nix that entirely. Other than that... I dunno... the lockout mechanism certainly makes it all feel mega-lopsided.

Casuals just need to stay out of these modes. The reason matchmaking sucks is because they keep quitting mid-game.
