Lol idk where this chant came from, but every time I see it it cracks me up. "sunset my business" What business? Are you selling Destiny accounts of something? I know you guys just love repeating stuff, but how about: "Sunset my gear, sunset my fun." Makes way more sense.

I know the textbook definition. Wasn’t being hyper literal but that doesn’t change my observation either. You continue the spout the “sunset” rhetoric and I won’t really believe it until well after release, not beforehand because while I distrust Bungie at this point, I have far less trust in anything some people say, especially in places where hypocrisy runs wilder than Hulkamania in 1985.

The definition is there for everone elses viewing pleasure then. "Sunset my gear, sunset my business," does not mean quitting the game. Even though I personally have done so. I could resume playing right now, and that wouldn't change anything about the stance. It means, "I'm done spending my money I would have otherwise willingly spent." The message ultimately isn't for you or anyone else on this forum, it's for Bungie, so frankly I don’t give a damn about anyone's lack of belief, especially when I've already followed through. All the silver I've bought over the years? No more. All the season or annual passes I've bought over the years? No more. Paid expansions, cosmetics? No more. Appraisal of the game from people who frequently ask about it? No more. They wanna scam me out of my time and effort? Then they don't deserve my support. Sunset my gear, sunset my business.

Other games don't feature Bungie's style of loot and gear functionality. Players either trade out gear for a measurable increase to their overall power, or the gear acts as stat sticks behind skills that rarely, if ever, change. Destiny does neither; newer gear isn't measurably stronger in any fashion, and is always going to be anchored by Crucible balance as long as it intertwines with PvP. It's a scam, because we gain absolutely [i]nothing[/i] from it, while Bungie gets to pad playtime up for worthless temporary gains. Sunset my gear, sunset my business.

You know all you had to do is properly define it instead of spamming the same vague ass statement over and over again. To someone who doesn’t know what you meant, it comes across as a hard line stance of quitting and choosing to utilize your valuable time in ways that matched your value which is what is causing people to scrutinize it. I understand your stance on ownership and all and I wish I could tell you that I agreed with you but I just know exactly what I sign up for and I understand what the limits to it are. Choosing to put yourself in a negative headspace over a winless battle simply to prove a “point” just seems the opposite of how someone should utilize their time. But that’s just me. Might be incorrect on your intentions but that is my impression. It’s all good though. Not gonna break the world if things don’t turn out how we’d like, they rarely do. Lessons are learned in failure as well as success. Sometimes more so.
