Re-Issued Gear is Unacceptable
I was actually on board for sunsetting but after seeing your “plan” for re-issuing gear it just proves that you don’t actually care about the player’s time. You could have [b][i]easily[/i][/b] implemented a way for the veterans to infuse their old gear to the same level as the re-issued version [b][u]but you chose not to[/u][/b].
We’re not stupid. We realize this was you testing the waters for how the community would react to your asinine decision which is why you did this [i]before[/i] the new expansion releases.
I predict that Beyond Light will be one of the lowest bought expansions in the franchise. You’ve burned too many bridges.

110 RepliesBeyond light is literally going to be the biggest expansion destiny has ever had. The reissued weapons are there to fill the gaps in seasons, since they can’t make 20 new weapons every season. But beyond light is gonna have lots of new weapons

I can see justification for the double primary system, arguably the worst decision in Destiny history. But this is complete and utter bullshit. This, to me, is the worst decision they have ever made with the game.

Saw all the reissued garbage and refunded my beyond light. Not going to play a game that expects me to re grind half the items in my vault for an identical version with a new seasons badge.

Pretty sure this is just a this season thing. There will always be reissued things to bring favorites back but there will be more new stuff. This is just an off season before the big one.

I think a lot less people would be complaining about "Re-Issued Gear" if they had stuck to only Y1 weapons like the Forward Path and the Frontier Justice. Then wait at least until fall for the later expansions.

Game still sucks lol.. not allowing the continued use of guns we actually fw WHILE recycling old guns in NEW endgame content.. This game is so anti-fun. You cant even put new seasonal mods on old armor pieces. This game's systems are all so inflexible.

Every giant expansion once a year will have minimal re-issued stuff maybe a few world drops but majority will be new. Every seasonal stuff will have Re-issued stuff. I have no issue as long as they allow me to use my old Recluse if they issue it back. Bungie is not forcing you to buy the content. If you don't like it then clear off.

The re issues are a stupid play and there's a far easier solution which eluded them I guess. Locking and Unlocking the power caps. Simple to say. Difficult to program? Possibly. But seems doable. I said it before. Sun settings success comes with requirements that cannot be deviated from or you risk invalidating it. Reissues - A massive no. You might as well not bother sun setting to begin with. Your token dumping "quick fix" was dmg control and you still set the fires of complaint alight. But I can agree with that complaint. Perk Pool - On the right track but painfully slow. Bringing D1 raids back was a play but you can't rely on your previous games content to carry you forever. Bungie you're either biting off more than you can chew. Or you're ice skating uphill and you're going to shed blood sweat and tears getting anywhere.

I think this year has been about doing the bare minimum to keep going to focus as much resource as possible on this fall expansion.

4 RepliesRe issuing gear is one of the better ways to spend their resources. Why make a new asset for another 600 rpm void autorifle when we already have one? Why do it for another lightweight frame scoutrifle? If they can avoid spending unnecessary time on designing weapons with no real new theme to, then it is a better use of time put in an old asset and focus on the avenues for getting said weapon. Let's be real here, do you prefer farming for a Gnawing Hunger from Reckoning or through Umbral Engrams? Any reasonable person knows that Reckoing is the biggest waste of time for weapon farming. I am pretty alright with sunsetting so long as our avenues for getting the weapons we want are better and streamlined. I think the Umbral Engram system nailed it on the head. You can minimize RNG, the effort to get the engrams and the currency are passive and plentiful in supply, and you don't have to do just one activity. Compare that to Reckoning. A long, boring activity that was never really popular, tons of RNG, you can't farm for certain weapons on certain times, and even when you did get a drop, it might not even be the weapon you were after. And even if it was, did it have the perks you wanted? For a whole lot of people, the answer was no. People sunk hours, I sunk hours into Reckoning, trying to get weapons like Last Man Standing and Gnawing Hunger. I did eventually get like a 8/10 LMS, but every Gnawing Hunger was garbage. In a matter of a week this season, I have gotten several, perfect, multi use Gnawing Hungers. Perk for perk. Yeah, sure, it would be cool to see a new design for autorifles, and just weapons in general. But it's not a make or break deal, let's be honest here. If it was a new asset, it seems like you wouldn't care. But because it looks the same, you do care. Which baffles me. Bungie can literally make a new 150 handcannon, stat for stat copy of Spare Rations, but if it looked different, people probably wouldn't even bat an eye. I mean, what are we, children? The real concern should be gear acquisition, after sunsetting. Right now it looks good, and hopefully we get something similar down the line.

There is literally no other decision that Bungie has made that I feel is worse than what's happening with Sunsetting.

Not defending sunsetting but I am enjoying being able to specifically farm for a nightwatch ,still chasing a god roll and gambit prime and reckoning is a crapshoot But older weapons should be able to be infused past the power cap
