Heroic public event done on Io on heroic first try with randoms. Already 10x better than last seasons public event.

50 RepliesEdited by RikBM: 6/9/2020 9:06:39 PMA copy of Gambit (without the PVP) is great?. Sorry, but that "new" "event" shows how lazy Bungie is, because it's nothing new at all and it's the only thing to do in the season (except for the raid). I'm getting depressed... another season that's repeating an event over and over... and the catalyst for the season weapon now has a forced PVP requirement to piss off the players like me who can't stand Destiny's PVP. Thank you Bungie, you're always surpassing our expectations on how much you want us to hate you.

8 RepliesSeeming as I enjoy Gambit. I also enjoy this event. However, Bungie continues to make the mistake where they expect 4 randoms to spread out champion mods among themselves.
-
It’s literally Gambit.
-
My first run was a win with randoms. Haven't been able to replicate it since...

6 RepliesYou had a heck of a bunch of randoms. My first take was an absolute disaster. It is worse than the tower, maybe easier to understand because it is gambit, but every bit as hard or harder, the bosses and everything are 1020 LL. Here is the the major problem, this is the newest activity for guardians to do on the first day of the season, it should be LL 1000. I never understood the mentality of make it too hard for players to do on day one. Players are content starved, they are gonna do it. But because it is too hard to complete with a random group of 5 players, it will leave a bad first impression. No match maker, nothing to mitigate the ability of the bosses in the fight. Just another example of how bungie fails to listen to feed back! Just another worn out horde mode, with recycled mechanics; that will get too old too quick!

3 RepliesJust wait till they add barrier and ... *shudders* overload champions
-
Nope sorry was fun the first couple of times but now definitely bored.
-
The Champions are absolute aids tho
-
5 RepliesWOW!! this is the same GARBAGE from last season... boring and lack of motivation.
-
Bored already..... the only real content is light level grind...
-
I like it, but I HATE this lack of freaking matchmaking. I've got just one clear after many tries.
-
Yes.... but why? Once again were given something to do but with no reason to do it..... at least give good rewards or some other reason.
-
Damn, thought this was going to be satire. You really like mini-gambit,?........weird.
-
1 ReplyLet me know how you feel in 2 weeks. Everybody loves new content the first day its available to play.
-
11 RepliesAs a new design on a public event It’s ok As a beam to carry the weight of a seasonal event It’s bloomin awful As is the revamped ‘Bunker system’ that hides in the Drifter space Worthy was garbage Arrivals isn’t looking promising Expect many departures!
-
2 RepliesHow do you make it Heroic?
-
I really enjoy it. I know it's basically just Gambit but without PvP, but honestly PvP is the entire reason i hate Gambit.
-
1 ReplyHavent found an instance yet where there were more than 4 people there or been able to complete the thing yet. Seems its not very popular on pc

1 ReplyOkay here's what I like: 1. I'm pretty sure it wasn't always the plan, but I like the conceit that playing Gambit was really training Guardians to be able to accumulate the energy of the Darkness. That's actually well played. 2. It's not tossing balls at bigger balls that have truly horrible collision so you wind up hurling energy halfway across the EDZ. 3. Mobs seem tuned a bit more fairly for the start of the season than the Black Armory Forges or the Seraph tower events. Even Champions can go down if you go ham with swords. 4. The only real sense of failure is if the time runs out on the clock for Heroic. Drifter doesn't tell you you failed, he just calls it a qualified success. What I don't like: 1. Entirely too many waves of mobs coming at once. It's a little hard to deal with the champions stealing the blooms when there's suddenly a class reunion for Vex Hydras in the middle of the battle. Given that this is designed for randoms in theory, that's a LOT of coordination to expect. 2. Failure or success, the chest at the end disappoints, as always. I mean, to the point two tokens and a blue would be an improvement. It's better than the Vex Offensive thing, far better than the Seraph Towers, but running behind the Sundial for these seasonal events.

5 RepliesIt's so boring. Literally public events are so boring . Did i say they are boring yet ?
-
1 ReplyI like how quickly it is over, so failing doesn’t feel like you wasted the last 10-15 mins Just please remove the champions, I want to use the weapons I want, not whatever happens to be in the seasonal artifact
-
1 ReplyIs there a prerequisite to seeing these? I can’t see any of the new public events.
-
1 ReplySo far from doing at least 6 of them, I’ll give it a solid 4/10. First one I was thinking 6/10, but after a few more and knowing how it goes, there’s not really much to them. Could use more dynamics to them, things to constantly shake things up so it’s not the same routine every time. It’s rather simple and straightforward. That’s just my opinion. I’ll still be doing more since you basically turn your brain off and run it on autopilot. An adequate distraction from other mundane tasks. Though it does give an effective platform to use the new exotic grenade launcher.

Edited by BIRB: 6/10/2020 1:28:48 PMI’m personally not a fan of the whole public event model with seasonal updates, but this seems better than last seasonal public event. I would much prefer an activity over this. This just seems really lazy imo.
-
Although better than seraph towers its not original by any means and I don't see this holding the communities attention for very long. I'm taking a break until the solstice event I'm sick of the pointless mind numbing grind knowing 3 seasons later my current gear is going to be garbage.

You and I have very different definitions of the word great, but such is life, obviously haha
