It's just a first run though. The TWAB said they intend to balance weapons more frequently. If FL is that OP, it will have nerfs incoming way before it gets outdated.

The point of sunsetting, is that we won't need to nerf stuff to the degree that we do. I'm sure that's why Felwinter's was released with these perks. It's nothing but shotgun creep. But because it's DEMONSTRABLY better than Mindebender's or AH, I don't really think it screws the non-Power enabled PvP meta terribly, and for Trials, it's only relevant for a year (conveniently just like AH). This is why sunsetting, to me, is exciting.

OK. It seems you aren't really in the loop. Demonstrably better? There have been plenty of videos testing this gun. It's good. Very consistent, but Mindbenders and the Trails shotgun can be better (The Trails shotgun has been able to out range it). I've seen people switch of FL to Mindbenders, for it has snapshot and the extra quickness is more important then the extra half a meter. Now your point that Bungie wont need to nerf stuff as much as they do. This would be awful. Most of the crucible isn't light level enabled. Meaning it's immune to the effects of sunsetting. How about modes like Trails and IB? Well weapons last a whole year and waiting a whole year for problem weapons to go away, would be awful.
